Is the concept of God outdated?
IS THE CONCEPT OF GOD OUTDATED?
Previously people use to worship various Gods (according to different regions, traditions, concepts in various parts of the world). In India a Goddess was being worshipped to keep her happy, to prevent occurrence of diseases which were there because of her curse.
A God (Indra) was worshipped to make rainfall.
The concept of curse of Goddess causing the disease like small pox is outdated.
The concept of God showering the rains is outdated.
How?
Because with many observations, analysis, experiments and research we now know that small pox is a disease caused due to a virus and not due to the curse.
We now know the mechanism of raining and weather changes. So we dont need to worship any God for that.
So in these cases, is the concept of God outdated or there is no such thing called God?
Surely there are no such things like Goddess of smallpox or God of rain. It was our lack of knowledge at that time.
And this is just an example, science has reveled many such unknown phenomenon, many things which appeared magical, mysterious and divine. And today a layman can understand it.
But still there were, there are and there will always be many unknown things, phenomenon to be explained and of which cause is not known. And such things always are fascinating, mysterious to us and divine to many.
There are two types of people in world, both of them get surprised due to mysterious, unknown phenomenon but one who thinks its divine and caused due to some superpower will keep worshipping the God who is actually not there. And the other will try to find the reason behind that phenomenon, will work upon it. And such people only correct the problems in society; lead the society towards a better and easy world.
