Chapter 2: Weird guys with eyes on fire
Music Recommendation: SK1N by HUNTAR

Music poured through the speakers into the living room as everyone danced like crazy without knowing what dancing was about. Even though it was cold outside the house from the inside felt like an oven with no air to breathe. I made my way through the living room as I went into the kitchen where the crowd was lesser and thankfully there was a backdoor in the kitchen. I simply just stood near by it as I opened it.

I was letting the fresh air into my body when I heard a voice that I was trying to avoid.

"You changed your mind about not coming, huh?" Matt asked as he stood beside me.

"Yeah. I actually found a cool date to come to this party."

"Date?" He chuckled. "I don't see you with any date." He said as he walked infront of me with a soft smile on his face.

"He's running late." I said trying to avoid his dark eyes.

As much as I hate to admit it, Matthew Bolan was a complete hawwttiieee. He was the true example of tall, dark, handsome, smart and pretty rich. If I want to explain his beauty I'd say he seemed like a character out of Penelope Douglas' young adult novels. Yeah, he was that hot. But despite that he had a creepy vibe written all over him.

"So he's running late? How do I know that's not a lie?" He asked crossing his arms on his chest.

"Well, I don't have anything to explain to you." I said as I opened my chat with Nathan and held my phone infront of his face. "But still here you go."

Nathan had texted me that he was running late because his car broke down. And I couldn't find Jenna or Joey, probably making out with people, that's why I was roaming around like a lonely dummy.

Matt looked at the screen. His face fell for a moment but then he smiled as I put my phone back.

"Nathan as in Nathan Wood?" He asked.

"Yeah." I replied. His grin grew a little more long.

"Well, then be ready to get stood up." He said as he stood beside me again with his back resting against the wall.

"If he was going to stand me up then he wouldn't have texted me." I said that but I did have a little suspicion that he might just stand me up. He did ask me out as joke to tease me. He likes to tease me. No, actually he loves it. Why you ask? Well that's a long story. Not that long though.

"Well, I had a thing arranged for you tonight. And I don't see your date coming any minute now..." he let out a breath. "So you wanna come with me?" He asked and I looked at him in confusion.

"What?" I asked.

"There's something I wanna show you." He said as I observed him. He did seem nervous but even his nervousness felt wrong. I don't know but this guy has a very dreadful vibe to him. I can't really put it into words. "Come on, Dani. I won't do anything weird. There's no way you can't not trust me." He said as he chuckled.

Dude, I really don't trust you.

"Come on. It'll just take a minute."

"Where are you taking me?" I asked.

"The garden." He replied.

I looked around the room. I needed some fresh air and I really needed to walk out of this crowded suffocating place. So I agreed to go with him. He lead the way out as I followed him through his huge mansion. If I were to walk around this place alone I'd just get lost in a second. The mansion was divided like a university building with one main building and other buildings were the departments. We kept on walking. The weather was cold but it still felt good than staying indoor with sweaty teens.

We stopped near a glass green house. When he said garden I never thought it'd be a botanic garden. He opened the door as soft violin music started coming out and he gestured me to enter with a smile and I raised an eye brow on him and he let out a chuckle.

"What?" He asked and I shrugged.

"Violin? Is Jenna in on this?" I asked and he laughed.

"Well, she doesn't know about this but she did tell me about the things you like and you don't like."

"Did she forgot to mention you under the 'Dani don't likes' list?" I said and he smiled again.

"I guess she did." He smiled shyly. "Now come on. I have a surprise for you in." He said and I rolled my eyes as I entered.

As I said it was a botanic garden with sweet smell of flowers. It was decorated with fairy lights all around. The rooftop window was opened letting the moonlight in. The melodious sound of violin filled the air making the atmosphere feel even more beautiful that it was.

I laughed. "Are you planning to ask me to marry you?" I asked as I turned around but Matt wasn't there. "Matt?" I asked as I walked towards the door. I tried to open it but it was locked. I frowned as I knocked on the glass door. Just then the fairy lights turned off the sweet soft violin sound changed into a dreadful one. "This is not funny, Matt!" I said as I put my hand in my pocket to find my phone but it wasn't there.

"Looking for this." I heard a voice say from behind. It felt like it was Matt's voice but a little more bulkier. I turned but no one was there. "Up here, sweetie." He said as I looked up and saw him somehow standing on the ceiling upside down holding my phone in his hand with it's screen on. His face was covered by darkness but I could see a light in the place of his eyes. It was like blazing fire coming out of them.

As much as I felt scared I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. It may have been a trick that's what I thought at first instead of screaming and running away. "Is this one of your tricks to impress me, Matt?" I asked as he laughed and jumped off the ceiling landing right in front of me. His eyes were on fire. I could see fire only there blazing out burning his skin around his eyes so bad that it had turned black and the ashes were flowing away from them. His smile was a devious one as he stepped towards me and I stepped back. His teeth started to sharpen slowly as he started drooling. The water from his mouth was coming out like a water fall. I saw a hunger in him. No, not in a sexual way, more in a 'I want to eat this girl' way. My back had hit the door now. There was no escaping now. I looked at his face and there were fangs there in his mouth as he came more and more closer.

"Oh poor you, Matty boy." A voice from behind Matt said. I recognize it the moment I heard it. Matt turned as we both saw Nathan standing underneath the opened ceiling window with a teasing smile on his face and his hands in his pockets. The moon light falling on him made it seem like he was standing right underneath a spotlight like the lead role of a musical.

"I don't really know how to sing, Jackson but I'll give musical theatre a try if you think I'll look good." He winked at me leaving me shocked.

Did he just hear my thoughts? Or was I thinking out loud?

Matt took me out of my trance as he pulled me towards him and spun me around while putting his one arm around my waist making us stand as such that my back was pressed against his chest. He had his one hand wrapped around my waist restraining any movement from me and his other hand was tucking away my hair exposing my neck.

"You're la-" Matt was going to say something but before that could happen I was pulled away from him and left alone there. Nathan was not standing where he was before. No one was there in my field of vision. My breath was heavy as I turned around and saw Nathan with his back to me and holding Matt up by his throat with only one hand.

I was speechless. This time it wasn't because of Nathan's presence but by what unbelievable things I was seeing.

"I thought I made it clear, Matty boy." Nathan said bitterly. His voice was his but just like Matt's voice there was something monstrous and dark about it. "She's off limits. And you dare touch her in front of my eyes?" He said as he suffocated him even more.

"Nathan!" I don't how but I manage to let that word out.

"Stay back, Jackson." He said as if warning me making me walk a few steps behind.

Nathan dropped Matt on the floor as he let out a frustrated groan. "I hate it when the old man leaves me behind to take care of lackeys like you." He said as he softly ran his hands through his hair still keeping his back towards me. Matt was just lying on the floor trying to breath.

"What part of 'Don't go near Dani' you don't understand, man?" He asked as he leanes closer to Matt. "I thought you understood English."

"You don't own her." Matt said getting his voice back while still lying on the floor.

"Of course,I do!" Nathan growled. "I own whatever and whoever I want. Wanna know why? Because I'm the Prince and when you try and touch the Prince's belongings he gets really mad." Nathan said in a threatning tone.

I did feel scared but somehow I wasn't pissing myself. I was standing there straight up just watching two hot guys threatning each other. I know I'm crazy to think that in a situation like this but what exactly do you think in this kind of situation? I've never been in a weird scary situation like thos before.

"Dani..." Nathan said sending a chill dowm my spine. "You might wanna close you eyes for this." He warned me sounding like he didn't really care if I did close my eyes or not.

"Nathan, we can talk this out." Matt said as he pulled himself backwards on the floor moving away.

"Nah, I'm good." Nathan said as he rushed towards him and in one swift moment I saw something moving in Nathan's hand. I didn't see what actually it was but somehow I knew he was holding Matt's heart in his hand making tears form in my eyes. Nathan crushed the small organ in his hand as he turned to me.

I saw a fire in Nathan's eyes just like I saw in Matt's but something was different about his fire. The fire in his eyes was blue with slight green in it and not yellow like Matt's. I didn't see his face because it was hidden by darkness but I saw his blue with green fire burning eyes blazing out moving towards me as I took a step back. Nathan sighed softly as he closed his eyes making the fire disappear and stood for a few moments. The he walked towards me as the moon light fell on his face.

"It's okay, Dani. There's no need to be scared." He said carefully.

"But- you just killed-"

"I didn't kill anyone. Look there's no body." He said as I looked where Matt was supposed to be. There was just a pile of dust lying there.

"But I saw you!" I said as I walked two steps away from him. "You pulled his....." I trailed off and he carefully walked towards me.

"He was going to kill you. I saved you from him." He said as I looked at his face and then at the pile.

"God..." I slightly shook my head as I started pacing left and right. "Oh my God... Oh my God..." I kept chanting those words as I walked like a prayer.

Let's put things in a perspective. Matthew Bolan tried to kill me and Nathan Wood saved me from him. But both of them had those eyes. The fiery blazing eyes. Dani, there has to be an explanation to it a scientific one. But how can I think of a scientific one when I believe in stuff like Llarona? I held my head as I quickened my pace.

Okay, so Matt is dead. God! He's dead! I hated the guy but I didn't want him dead.

He tried to kill you, dummy. I heard a voice interruption my trance of thoughts. But the thing was that the voice didn't felt like I heard it from my ear. It was like a voice in my head. I stopped in my tracks. Why the hell the sound in my head sounded like Nathan?

"Okay. That's enough." Nathan said as I looked at him. "You really need to chill out, Dani. Nothing bad happened here." He said in a calm voice.

I scoffed. "Yeah, right I saw nothing so I'll be leaving." I said as I walked pass Nathan towards the door but stopped near the pile of dust.

I felt nauseous even looking at it. I turned back as I sighed and Nathan laughed.

"Come here." Nathan said as he held his hand towards me.

I looked at his hand and then at him. Still confused so fricking confused.

"It's okay. Trust me, Jackson."

When Matt said those words I did pretend to trust him although I never really trusted him but when Nathan said those words I just knew it I could trust him.

I swallowed whatever I was feeling and walked towards him as I held his hand. He pulled me closer to him keeping a safe distance between us he looked me in the eyes.

"I didn't want our date turn out like this." He let out a chuckle as he held both of my hands and let out a breath. "Dani, tell me what did you understand from whatever happened here?"

I bit my lip as I looked around. "Beautiful botanic garden with violin sounds. Weird guys with eyes on fire. One of the guys always felt like a creep and I didn't like him much either and he is a pile of dust now and..."

"And?" He asked.

"And I can't understand how you did what you did?" I said in a low voice and he chuckled a little.

"It appears you're in a right state of mind and it's pretty shocking you're really absorbing this scenario pretty well than a normal human would have."

"So... we're not normal humans?" I asked and he laughed a little.

"You really are a cute tomato." He said as his grip on my hands grew a little stronger. "I don't know about you yet but me; no, I'm not. I'm not even human. Are you scared now?" He asked.

Am I scared?

"No. Maybe a little. But I'm more confused than scared."

"Well, the confusion is gonna go now. Just close your eyes." He said and I looked at him for a moment but the I closed them.

It wasn't long before I heard the voice of blazing fire and the heat of that fire was falling right onto my face.

Nathan let out sigh as he held me by my shoulders. "I'm sorry." He said under his breath and before I could open my eyes I felt a pang pain on my neck. It was like two big needles had pierced through my skin. It took me sometime but I realize it was Nathan's teeth that were piercing my neck. My head felt dizzy and my legs were weakened. I felt like life was draining out of me. I was about to lose my balance and fall but Nathan held me by my waist pulling me up towards him. I put my arms on his shoulder for support as he held me firmly closer to him.

I don't know if Nathan had betrayed that trust I felt towards him or not. But one thing was clear now I was not confused anymore. I knew what Matt and Nathan were? They were blood suckers. Vampires.

My vision was getting blurry as the pain ran through my body. I felt the needles getting pulled out of my neck as my head fell back and I lost balance of my body. Nathan held me up with his arm wrapped behind my waist and his other hand was holding my head up so I could look at him.

I saw the blood dripping down from his mouth as the blue fire burned the skin around his eyes.

A normal human should've been terrified, scared, crying and running away from him. Instead I felt ecstasy, calm and comfort as he held me there. I felt safe when I saw the blue fire blazing in his eyes. I've heard the blue fire is supposed to be the most dangerous one because it's hotter than others but somehow that blue fire felt safe like even if I touch it, it would never burn me.

I tried to moved my hand to touch his face and he seemed confused but before I could touch my hand fell as my vision blackened. What happened afterwards? I have no idea.
