Where Am I
The world around me was blurry and painful. Buzzing sounds caged me, getting louder with every second it seemed.
I take a deep breath, then another, startled. This smells like Earth!
I open my eyes more, finding myself in a tent. I try to sit up, but pain floods through me.
Two guys stand over me, their figures going in and out of focus.
One says, "The stupid boy's awake, Doc! He's a live one.".
Doc says, "Now, Gilly, what did we say about calling sick people stupid.".
The young kid, Gilly, says, "But lame is a sick person, and stupid is like lame. So sick people are stupid!".
Doc rolls his eyes, "Gilly, do I need to make you study the dictionary again?".
Gilly groans, "No! I already have read that wreached thing several times.".
The blurriness goes away, leaving me with more then I want to see. Doc is a hippy of sorts, long brown hair tied into a ponytail and a tie dye turtle neck underneath his lab coat. Gilly is a young surfer type, with short sandy hair and tan skin, blue eyes big and wide.
Gilly smiles, the air around him shouts young, silly kid. He says, "Hello stupid boy, I'm Faron Gilbert, but you can call me Gilly!".
I smirk. Never in my life had I met a dude who let themselves be called anything like Gilly.
Doc flashed something bright in my eyes. He mutters, "You were lucky you didn't die in that ship! What were you even doing in there alone?".
I blink fast, trying to get the blind spots to fade away. I look around again, seeing weird, glowing plants all around me. I ask, "Where in the hell am I?".
Gilly points at me, "See Doc, see! Hell isn't a bad word.".
Doc glares at me, "Now look what you've done! Gilly, just because the new boy says it doesn't mean it's good to say. Do I need to send you back to Linx for another week?".
Gilly mutters, "No Doctor Copper, I'm sorry.".
Doc smiles, "Better.". He turns to me, "What's your name?".
I mutter, "Kenneth, Kenneth Colten. And I repeat, where am I?".
Doc smirks, "Welcome to Andrea, a orphan planet for boys.".
Gilly laughs, "If you could call some of us boys.".
Doc grins, "Eddie's one of the boys, Gilly. Mister Colten here will learn that soon enough. Now back to my mood. Where's that fudgen pack of bandages?".
