Chapter 2:
Four days later:
"Are you ready dear?" Kovu asked as he picked Keiko by her scruff.
"I...I don't know Kovu. I've never done this before. I mean I saw Kion's presentation but mom took him up to Rafiki, not me." Kiara said. Kovu walked over and nuzzled his wife.
"Our children will be fine Kiara, Rafiki's done this too many times to count," Kovu reassured.
"Rafiki has only done this to four cubs Kovu," Kiara corrected her husband and Kovu blushed in embarrassment.
"Queen Kiara, King Kovu Rafiki's ready," Makini announced. Kiara sighed and picked Deon by his scruff and followed her husband outside.
"Where's Kaito?" Kiara asked.
"With Rafiki," Kovu answered as they walked towards Rafiki. Rafiki smiled and once Kiara gave him the signal to start the presentation he raised Kaito up in the air. Kiara smiled and felt relief fill her body as she watched her oldest cub look around the kingdom. The animals down below cheered once they saw their princes and princess. A cold breeze ran through Kiara's fur and she instantly knew it was her grandpa Mufasa's way of helping her relax even more.
Rafiki held Kaito up in the air for five more minutes and once he lowered the cub into his arms he dipped his thumb into a gourd that he cracked open before the presentation started and made a mark on Kiato's forehead with the red juice and did the same for Keiko and Deon. Rafiki picked Kiato up and put him down on the ground. Rafiki looked at Kiara and Kovu and bowed and walked away with Makini following him.
