Driving While Being Black
Driving in my car just going around the corner to the store to pick up groceries.
When I stop at a light and let people go pass since they had the right away I'll let them go first..
then all the sudden I hear the noise the noise that can't be drowned out by my music the noise that overshadows the music like the music wasn't even there.
now the music has died down and a sound and the colors of red and blue is flashing in the background like you committed the ultimate crime but then they say you have a broken tail light sir there are no broken tail lights on my car I checked before I got in officer then officer 264 keeps a gun pointed in your face why the other officer goes and breaks your tail light.
sir lower your voice . I did not have tail light problem until you stop me. Now I hear mumbling voices about the white people seeing things like did they stop him because he had drugs in the car or did they stop him because he looks like he don't belong in this neighborhood did they stop him because he committed a crime but in my mind I know I was stopped because I was black and I drive a nice car I work hard for my money but white police's think that you shouldn't have that money. They must have thought if we can't have that car why should this black dude have it.
