For a week after meeting that woman, his thoughts had been filled with nothing but her. She was beautiful, yes. But he had no shortage of beauties. So why could he not stop thinking of her. He tried to keep himself busy with revealing the true colors of the gold digger to Xander, but his mind always went back to her.

Was it her eyes? Those eyes that spoke volumes, they pulled him in and he found himself lost in her. He had so many words to describe those eyes and yet they didn't seem to be enough. This wasn't lust because he felt her body was unworthy of those pair of eyes.

He sounded crazy. Falling in love with someone's eyes. Wait. Falling in what? This was it. What had been bothering him. He had fallen in love with a stranger's eyes. He wondered. What was she doing? He wanted those eyes to be filled with his reflection only his.

He stood up in a flurry and grabbed his suit jacket as he raced out of his office leaving his employees baffled. What was wrong with the boss?

As he raced down the highway, he felt a sense of crisis. He stepped on the gas, breaking the speed limit as he drove to her apartment.

When he got to her door he took a second to make himself look presentable. Then he knocked. His heart jumped to his throat as he sighted those eyes. They had a sparkle to them and a touch of urgency flickered through them. Had he moved to quickly?

Then she slumped. He rushed to hold her but those eyes were shut. He wanted so badly to see those eyes sparkle again. He didn't know how he did it but he took her to the hospital.

Unknown. They said the cause of death was unknown. He didn't want to believe it but she was there, lying on a metal slab with a white piece of cloth pulled up to her chin. Eyes shut, never to open again. She wore the blue dress he had seen her in, the blue paling to the sparkle of her eyes.

He organised the burial in a robotic manner. Xander tried his best to cheer him up. He retired after her burial taking all he had to the countryside where he taught business classes in a local university.

One day he came to her grave and saw someone unexpected. He silently stood beside him.

"How did she die?"

"Natural. The doctors said she fell asleep."

"I never knew her."

"Vicente you didn't even know yourself."

"I was so stupid."

"I take it Xander told you."

"She tried to save me."

"You're right, you are stupid. I didn't even get a glance and I did all I could."
