The Wingstringham-Dalingridge ball
The first couple to organize the ball was the Wingstringham- Dalingridge one. Felecia's love of organisation and perfection made a ball resembling a lot the traditionalist Wingstringham balls.
Not many people were impressed yet there were more people that came: some men Osbert had worked with and the same self absorbed ladies who were friends with Felecia and a few friends of their children.

Of course, Silvestre paid much attention to who was invited. All of the people the couple brought were mostly acceptable except a family of immigrants coming from a hostile land. Silvestre immediately asked them to leave and never return to the shame of both Felecia and Osbert.

As for the children's friends, Silvestre soon realized that Lawrence had an outnumbered amount of lady friends than men friends. It was no surprise to Silvestre thought, and anyways, he had long ago given up on him.

Jocelin was different, he seemed to only have invited a small number of people. There was an older boy, the age of Helewise who was from the northern side of the lands Silvestre owned. A young fat fellow followed by another plum and loud child.
Silvestre had no issue with the older boy who must've learned the manners, the two others thought, drove him insane. They ran around yelling, bugged the older guests, stuffed themselves with whatever they found and worst of all: entered in private areas of the castle.

Silvestre then planned on discussing the growing problems concerning Jocelin with Felecia and Osbert. He had a hard time understanding how both children could turn out so wrong: on one side there is one who is a genius, who is tragically in love with men and on the other there is a wild selfish brat who is completely out of control, that is yet attracted to woman.

When the conversation finally came the morning after, Felecia refused to acknowledge that something wasn't right with both of her sons. She gave unreasonable arguments saying that they were young and didn't understand the world quite yet but Silvestre sent her off telling her what she said was nothing more than nonsense.
Once she left, he and Osbert got the chat they needed. Silvestre was glad when his son admitted to his children's wrong and defended his wife saying she didn't accept the fate of her beloved sons.

Silvestre offered them help by adding extra classes to Jocelin and presenting  some ladies to Lawrence to get him interested.
Osbert thanked him and left, leaving Silvestre more disappointed than ever. As together as they may seem, that family wasn't doing well and it was easy to tell.

Silvestre ended up choosing not to give the award of best ball to the Wingstringham- Dalingridge family.
