ETHEL
“Ena, turn off the light, please?” Annie shouts on her twelve year old daughter. It’s 7 o’clock in the evening.

“Later, Mom. She’s still outside,” Ena answered from downstair.

Annie thought it’s her second daughter, Mika, at the outside feeding her dog that Ena was with.

“Okay, sweety. I’ll go upstair. Will you be okay there?”

“Yes, Mom. We’re fine.”

Annie went inside her room. She has so many works to finish. And she has no more time for her three daughters. She just left Mika, her four year old daughter and the youngest, Trina to their sister Ena. She said they’re fine at the house and Annie should not worry about them.

Annie decided to come out for a while because she left her laptop on the living room. As she passed by on her daughters’ room, she sneaked in–only to find out that Mika is sleeping soundly with Trina on her arms on her own bed. She looked for Ena and found her at their backdoor. The door was open and Ena’s standing there–looks like more waiting for someone.

“Ena, what are you doing here?” Annie asked.

“Hi Mom. I’m about to turn off the light but she’s still outside. I’m waiting for her.”

Annie scratched her forehead. Her two daughters were sleeping soundly on their bed then Ena’s waiting for someone. A girl.

“Who are you waiting for, Ena?” she asked.

“Mom, Ethel is still here. She thought you’ll be late tonight that’s why she decided to stay.”

Annie gasped. “Who’s Ethel? And why she had to stay tonight?”

“You forgot? She’s your newly hired babysitter for us. She’s sweet and caring. She never left us until she’s sure that you’re here. Ethel is a good person. She always makes sure we’re safe.”

Sweat fell down on Annie’s forehead. She felt terrified after hearing who’s Ethel her daughter was talking about. She’s so sure that she never hired any babysitter for them.

“W-Where is Ethel?” Her voice stuttered while asking. She swallowed hard when Ena pointed outside.

“That’s her,” Ena said.

Annie looked outside. It’s dark but she can still see a figure of a woman near the tree.

And she was shock when she saw a woman smiling to her. The moon lit up the woman’s place. Fear plastered on Annie’s face. The woman has a knife on her left chest and a long slit on her neck. Her white dress was covered with blood. She almost collapsed when she figured out who’s Ethel.

Ethel was the babysitter she hired when Ena was still a baby. And Ethel was the babysitter she unintentionally killed 7 years ago after knowing that she’s after her husband.
