She's your own flesh and blood
"Did you hear about our English teacher?" Rosie asked.
"No? What about him?"
"Apparently he is dating our geography teacher. Not a bad matching if I'm being honest with you."
"Actually, I agree to that statement." Willow chuckled.
"Although, he does keep telling us that he hates geography. So I guess that's the only down side to that relationship."
"Yeah." the girls were holding hands, walking down the street. Minutes flew by when they are with each other. "Hey, you haven't really been in my house. Only once, so i was wondering if you would you like to emm, come in again? I mean you don't have to, it's just-"
"Hey, I'd love to if your sure it's okay."
"I wouldn't of asked you if it wasn't okay." She laughed.
"Well then, shall we go in?"
"Oh, yeah. I guess I better unlock the door." Willow quietly laughed to herself.
Willow leads Rosie into her home, and was about to head up the stairs but was stopped.
"And where the hell do you think your going? You've got some explaining to do, young lady." Her dad yelled.
"Dad, please not now. Ive-"
"No! Your gonna tell me everything this instance!"
"Come on, we don't have all day. Your dad is asking you a question." Her mother joined in.
"Look, I am sorry. I jus-'
"Sorry didn't do it. Now come over here and explain yourself!" Her dad yelled.
"Look, she cannot give you an answer if you keep interrupting her like that." Rosie tried to say calmly. But Willow's parents ignored her.
"Willow I will not ask you again."
"Fine, just please listen to what I have to say this time. You guys never listen to me."
"Well come on then. We don't have all day, football is going to be coming on in a bit." Her dad said.
"Right, I've been staying at Rosie's house. Her parents said that it was okay for me to stay there for a couple of nights and-"
"Oh, so you don't tell us that your staying there and you think that it's just fine to give yourself permission to stay there!" Her mother howled.
"But you said I could go the other night."
"Exactly! The other night. Not all these nights! Your poor mother and I have had to do all these dirty jobs around the house. We've had to make our own meals and you know that is YOUR job to do! Not OUR job, YOUR job!"
"But dad..."
"No 'buts' your grounded and you have to give us your pocket money that you've saved to show that your sorry."
"But dad you and mom don't give me any money. The only money I've got is the five pound that I've had to gather over the years.'
"Well then, give us that and then you will have to make up the rest by doing extra work."
"Oh yeah, and while your still here who is this girl standing here in OUR house. Did we say she could come in. I don't recall saying that, do you honey?"
"I don't believe I do. So that's twice as much work for you to make up for."
Rosie can see willow's eyes fill with tears, and that physically destroys her a little inside. She promised her that she would never have to feel all torn up again.
"Emm, sorry I was just going to stay quiet cause i didn't want to cause trouble but you two have just pushed me over the edge in such a short period of time! You two should be ashamed of yourselves. She is your daughter! Not some slave for you to hand out your orders to. She is your own flesh and blood. You should be making her meals. You should be looking after her. Not the other way round. She deserves a lot better than what she gets. And something else don't call me 'this girl' I'd very much appreciate that thanks. Many people like your daughter and I have feelings like normal people. But clearly you two are just heartless monsters, who don't deserve a daughter nevermind this one of a kind girl. She is literally out of this world amazing, but you two can't open your eyes to see that." Rosie yelled.
"I'm sorry, but who the hell do you think you are! Clearly you haven't seen what this kid is like-" her dad rises his voice to her
"No! Clearly you haven't seen who she really is. You haven't seen how much potential she has in life. You haven't even seen a little piece of what she is cable of. You haven't seen how beautiful her heart and soul truly is." Rosie grabs Willow's hand. "Come on we are leaving this hell hole."
Rosie makes sure she doesn't let go of Willow and takes her out of the house and into her own.
"Look, I do apologise for yelling at your parents but it killed me hearing them having a go at you for literally nothing. I could see you were upset. It was written on your face. You didn't deserve that. Any of that. Like I said, I was just going to stay quiet but it kills me seeing you down at heart. They don't deserve you. Your too precious."
"Don't apologise. I should be apologising for letting you come in yo experience all of that."
"No I am thankful that you did, cause if you didn't I wouldn't of heard all of that. I wouldn't of been able to give them a piece of my mind. You didn't deserve any of that. But I can't help wondering, are they always like that? Is that why you were so upset about life?"
"The truth is, they are usually a lot worse. But they were only a part of why I didn't enjoy life." Willow started to remember parts of her childhood. When she was beaten by her dad and had to tell her teachers a lie so that he wouldn't get into trouble. How she would be left for days without anything to eat, how she had to be strong. When her mom always yelled at her when she made one small mistake. How she was always they last priority. All those memorise were not what a person should have to go through, never mind a child. Her eyes started to fill and slowly, they rolled down her cheeks. One by one.
"Aww, baby don't worry." Rosie told her as she reached to cup Willow's cheeks, using her thumbs to wipe alway the tears. "They aren't here. I'll keep you happy and safe." She pulled Willow into a tight hug, making sure she felt secure.
"I know you will keep me happy and safe. You've kept your words so far, and I don't expect you to stop trying so hard now." Willow whispered into Rosie's ear.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"No? What about him?"
