Ascension Day
Shuddering in hope
She trudged along
Just to have a glimpse
Of her resurrected Lord
Nothing meant more
Than this precious day
To see Him in Glory
Ascending Above
A prove of His life
And surety of All lives
Was His mission
Fully accomplished this day
Over 2000 years ago,
Heaven and earth witnessed
The ascension of the King
Unto greater realms of glory
To prepare a place of beauty
Both for you and I.
So as our day unveils
Let our minds
Upon Him remain
Refusing to be choked away
By the cares of this world
And seeming pleasures
Of the world enticement
Rather unto Him
Let's press forward
Becoming as she
Focused on our precious King
