Jasmine, wakes up to her favorite song as an alarm. She dreaded this morning. The first day of school, just like most teenage girls she hated when summer was over. She lived in Annapolis, Maryland in a nice two story house. He life was as perfect as she knew her life could be. She had no clue of her parents history. She sleepily shut off her alarm and got up and brushed her curly dark  brown hair, with natural golden highlights. She put on a pink dress with a Jean jacket and white converse and put a flower in her hair. She quietly hummed her favorite song, 'Scars to your beautiful' by Alessia Cara as she got ready for school. She put a little light pink lip gloss on, light mascara, it was better to have light mascara with her hazel eyes and light pink eye shadow. She thought about going to the cafe for breakfast but, then realized her parents wouldn't let her leave school without a homemade breakfast. She grabbed her bag off the hook in her room and walked down stairs. She smelt something burning, Mom was probably cooking again, she thought to herself. 
Jasmine walked into the kitchen and saw her mom cooking as she suspected. 
Jasmine spoke quietly, "Mom why isn't dad making breakfast? "
Elena Salvatore, her mother,  replied at a normal voice level, " he's out getting something before you have to go, he'll be home soon."
Jasmine, still spoke quietly, with such sweetness, "until then maybe I should take over the cooking, mom..."
Her mother replied, "maybe so, at least you got the good cooking genes from your father."
Jasmine took over making breakfast and made scrambled eggs and toast for her sister, her mother and her father. While she was putting breakfast on the table, her father, Damon Salvatore walked in.
Jasmine said, "Dad I made some breakfast, mom still can't cook.."
Her father replied with a chuckle and said, "She never has been a great cook except with ramen noodles. "
Jasmine and her sister, Angelina, sat down to eat breakfast as mom was getting ready for work. As Jasmine and her family finished breakfast, she washed the dishes and put them away. She went to pick her bag up from the counter as her dad tossed her a pair of car keys.
Her dad said, "Happy first day"
Jasmine smiled, and as she hugged her dad, she replied, "Oh My God Thank you so much dad!"
He replied, " your welcome,  your going to be late if you don't get going, drive safe."
She replied, "I will I promise, love you dad, bye"
She picked up her bag and went to her new white Jeep. She smiled as she unlocked the doors and got in. She turned the engine, closed the doors and safely drove to school.
