THE INVASION
Zack read aloud over her shoulder,
" The invasion of Zegars are going to destroy Aledera. The headquarter needs to take action before the military forces loose power."
Zack looked at the pale face of Alaska,
"Well, not to worry. The invasion hasn't started yet, we can decrypt codes being send by the border and try to resolve the situation."
But Captain knew it wasn't the message that shook her, it was the name and signature in the end.
Alaska whispered,
"By the Head of Border Department,
Anderson Wez."
Zack muttered,
"Wez, that name sounds familiar. He is an authoritative figure at Aledera. Sad man with a tragic past, lost his wife and only daughter."
Alaska felt a smirk on her face as she whispered in the lowest voice,
"Not lost, killed....by his own hands."
"What did you say?" Zack questioned.
"Nothing. Just saying we need to get to work." Alaska replied putting on the most fake smile ever.
"Alright, you two will leave first thing in the morning. I will keep in contact with you both and don't cause trouble. You may leave now."
On her way out,
"Alaska wait. I need to talk to you."
She sighed and went back to Captain.
Before he could speak, she chimed in,
"I know. I don't need your concern. I'm fine and I want to do this. Sooner or later he will know that the only one that can save him is the person he abandoned. I am not Scarlet, I'm Alaska Grey and this is my duty. I have moved on from the past because his name means nothing to me anymore. We are strangers with horrible memories."
Captain smiled and motioned her to leave. She turned on her heels and walked away looking powerful as ever.
Captain felt a small grin play on his lips,
"This is the girl I want you to be. It's time for you to break out of your shell and face what you feared the most."
****************
"Tomorrow is going to be interesting."
Alaska thought to herself.
Out of nowhere, Zack popped into her mind,
"Despite the attitude, he looks good."
She slapped herself and whispered,
"What nonsense are you thinking. He is your partner and that's it. Don't get ahead of yourself. Besides he is so full of himself anyways."
For some reason, she found herself scared at going back to the place where the memories are going to replay again but she is also excited to go back as Alaska Grey, The top fighter and cryptographer at Diakot Headquarters of Zethlin.
