We lead Alpha Poema Tane through our camp, her golden orbs darting around as if looking for something to jump out and kill her.

My Beta says, "You didn't have to come you know! I can do this by myself.".

I roll my eyes, "Just thought I'd join you.".

He stops at one of the guest cabins that we use for visitors. He waves at it, "This is one of our guest cabins, where the women will be staying. It may not seem like much, but it's good enough for a war camp.".

Poema's eyes widen, "This is too much, a simple tent would do.".

I growl, "A tent is not what anyone should sleep in, it is flimsy and offers no protection.".

Poema looks like she has more to say but her Upsilon, Fox I think, shakes her head. Fox answers, "We are used to being able to move places quickly. Tents are usual in the Tane Pack.".

I mutter, "Well not here, we don't like moving much.".

Fox sighs, "Come on Mao, it looks cozy enough. You need a place to rest that leg, and no you aren't going to get up unless Timber gives the okay.".

Poema huffs, "Fine.".

I ask Poema, grabbing her arm, "Before you retire, could I speak to you privately?".

Poema stiffens, buts nods, head hanging to hide her face. We walk off, Beta River and her packmates looking at us as we go farther and farther away from them.

I smirk, "So what are your parents like?".
