YOU
The first day I entered the library I saw you . You were sitting at the far end of the last bookshelf of the last row in the huge library. And possibly you sat in tatters and clumsy overalls , with a dusty body. To anyone else passing through you were quiet invisible, as I had deduced from the 3 months I had spent looking at you and people's behaviour around you ,instead of reading the novel in front of me. My first thought being that maybe you are not important but then as the three months passed by, I really wanted to walk up to you, the reason unknown.
I don't know why I felt attracted by you. You looked nothing special, as I have already said, all dusty and kinda antique, kinda out of fashion. Everyone looked at you and then looked away. None ever even wanted to even see what was in you that you are hiding for so long. No one wanted to give you a good overall, all they said was, " Ew, you are dusty, couldn't you be any better? ". Contempt was all people had for you everytime they looked at you.
But for me it had been different from day 1. I kept thinking that there was something special about you. Something unusual but in a good way . I wanted to tell myself that maybe you are not important but then as the three months passed by, I could not keep my overwhelming curiosity at bay and at the end of the third month of silent stalking I conjured up my courage to present myself before you.
So finally I trotted up to you. Last row of the last shelf. The tension building up in me. Well this was not the first time approaching a book that also a book on astronomy . But this one had an aura around itself. It was a very old book and even if people thought that it was unnecessary and illogical to look into the ancient thoughts of earlier when there were the new technological advances . But then I knew that even if we have come to know about many things it would be in vain without knowing the thoughts of the early people. Maybe those theories ain't true or maybe they are. What's the problem in checking things out. Isn't it better to know fully about a subject than to go on as an ignorant.
Whether it was just my love for the subject which made me attracted to the book or maybe my conscience of doing things which other people refuse to is beyond my imagination till date. But the book was surely worth it.
