The Half Bridge
I waited silently beneath the half bridge looking for Thea. I didn’t like the idea of waiting alone but for her to be happy I would wait for a lifetime. Here she comes and, with her hair as pink as ever, I guessed she was excited. The sight of her made my heart burst with joy.

. . . . . . .

I basically ran to the half bridge and my hair was bright pink because of excitement, (it changes based on my mood. Pink for happy, red for mad, blue for sad, and you get the idea). When I got there, I was nearly bursting with excitement.

. . . . . . .

“Are you ready?” I said. I couldn't help but feel excited myself. “This is going to be dangerous. Stay behind me, ok?” I opened a portal, pursed my lips, grabbed Thea’s hand and walked forward.

. . . . . . .

“Ok,” I said as the portal was opening. She grasped my hand and I thought I heard bones cracking.

. . . . . . .

I walked through the portal and looked forward at a tall man was about to deliver a killing blow to a young girl. I grabbed a sharp piece of sharp metal and stuck it straight into his heart. I watched his body crumple to the ground. I felt the urge to … devour?

I wrapped my long snake-like black tongue around the man, and dragged him toward me. I lifted him up and crushed his body like a boa constrictor.

. . . . . . .

“Umbra, stop!” I yelled, “he’s had enough!”

. . . . . . .

But it was too late, I had turned the man into a strange black goo and absorbed his essence. I felt strength course through my veins. I was still hungry, I wanted more. I approached the young girl with hunger in my eyes.

. . . . . . .

“Umbra, snap out of it!” I yelled hoping to snap her out of it before it was too late. I stood in front of Merilyn unmoving, thinking it was the end.

. . . . . . .

I stopped at the last second forcing myself to stop. I somehow formed large black wings, and flew to the nearest city. I pounced on a civilian and started devouring it, crouching on the persons corpse like a starved animal. I looked up and wiped black goo off my chin. I pounced on another civilian, and another, and another, until I came to the feet of a man … a hero. Thea’s father.
