Chapter 1
"What do you remember about your mother?"
"She was abusive, that's how I got this scar under my right eye" she replied while sightly touching her scar.
"You really had a tough life ,huh?"
Saskia awkwardly laughs as she puts on a small smile, she looks at her co-worker before turning away.
"It wasn't easy, but I'm alright...I have my brothers" she spoke softly, before walking into the back.
Her co-worker smiled as she continued arranging the cakes and putting them into display glass.
The dinging of the oven alerted saskia, she rushed to the oven and pulled them out of the oven, the once brown soft cookies was hard to the touch, and the smell of burnt cookies filled her nose.
She sighed as she tossed the tray of burnt cookies onto the counter, she stared at them with a disappointed glare.
"Today is not my day" she sighed in frustration.
After baking another batch. she took them out and let them sit for 10 minutes, before taking them to the front where they will be packaged.
"Here goes the cookies that was ordered" Saskia said as she sat them on the clean pristine counter.
A customer walked in, and before they could speak Saskia hurried to the back.
"Hello, how are you?" The customer asked with a soft smile.
"Are you here for the cookies?" Yumi asked while sliding them towards him.
"Haha, yeah its for my daughter" he laughed while exchanging his money.
"Come again!" Yuki yelled out.
After hours passed it was time to close up shop, both Yumi and Saskia packed up the rest of the sweets that wasn't sold and they split it amongst each other.
"See you tomorrow!" Yumi shouted loudly.
Saskia waved, before walking the opposite direction. the street lights made a path so it wasn't to dark, the cold air blew her hair In the passing wind. she couldn't help but smile at the beautiful white town as the snow fell on top of everything.
She finally made it home, she entered the building and announced her arrival.
Two figures rushed towards her with bright smiles.
"Kol look what I gotcha" she smiled while handing the sweets to him.
"Really? Thanks sis" he smiled while taking the sweets to the kitchen.
"Oh yeah, the funeral is tomorrow" Raoul informed her with a nonchalant expression.
"Dad want us to go"
"Huh,no way she just died its not like she will know if we went or not!" Kol whined while stuffing his face with the sweets she bought for him.
"I'll be busy"
Saskia strutted away and stopped in front of her father room, she peeked inside and saw he was crying while his fingers intertwined in his hair.
"Dad" she whispered while softly knocking on the door.
"Get out! Get the hell out of my room!" He shouted angrily, tears stained his cheeks as he started throwing stuff at the door "get out!" He continued yelling.
Saskia closed his door and sadly walked away, she could recall her childhood perfectly and not once did she see any ounce of love between her parents.
Her father shouting got louder as he threw insults after insults at each one of his kids.
