TWO YEARS AGO

Sunday. My birthday. Today we are going out. Family time you see. Being an introvert , I don't have quiet a number of friends. In fact, it may sound weird but I have no friends at all. I don't know why but no one ever likes me. School is the loneliest place I have ever been to. But today I'm the happiest person on Earth. I'm going out to the Driskill Mountains, the highest point of the our state. But who knew that life would play such a dirty trick on me on this very day which could have been the happiest day of my life? I didn't.

We are just half an hour away from the mountains now. I have never had such a thrilling experience in my life before.
"Mom, how far is it?" I ask.
"We are almost there child. Be patient, it teaches you a lot" my mother replies. I smile and my father pats me on the head. Suddenly the car tilts and even before I can understand the situation I feel that I am being lifted up in the air and at the very next moment I am out of the car...thrown out. I fall. I am bruised. I can't get up. I feel miserable, as if all my bones are broken. I don't know how to react. Hot tears roll down my cheeks. I try hard and push myself up and then I turn around. To my utmost horror, there is no car. There is darkness. A flash of light. A bang. Another scream. Darkness again.
A sharp pang of pain. Screams. Sounds of feet approaching. Pain. More pain. Lights. Hands. Faces.
