Chapter 5 (Ava)
I was surrounded by trees, and completely lost sight of the road. Trudging in the woods, stuffing my hands in my shorts' pockets, I failed to think of where to go. Stepping over a fallen log I realized I was getting sweaty in fact, I was wondering if I was getting cooked alive. Where was the climate control?

After a few minutes of me panicking and deciding that I really didn't need to get a panic attack in the woods, I found a nice spot under the cover of a who knows what kind of tree. Ahhh. It was nice to have some shade in this boiling heat. I breathed deeply slow and steady, trying to control it, while listening to birds and rustling leaves in the blistering wind. Looking at my new sneakers on my feet, I wondered how my life got so complicated.

Now that my panic attack freak out was all settled, I took out my bag, dumped its contents on the ground. I had the medical kit, four apples, two bags of small carrots, some gross beef jerky, four and a half candy bars, gum, six or seven waters, and three grape Gatorade bottles. I guzzled a Gatorade, which was now frosty on the outside. When I left my spot, the sun cast a small shadow directly behind me, which told me it was about noon. I ate an apple and started back on my hike to nowhere in particular.
