I  was pretty nervous to start this project with him. I wasn't much of an talker so I wouldn't know what to talk about other than the work at hand. So I politely asked if we could start tomorrow.


The next day ~



My nervousness hadn't died down. And my anxiety presented it's ugly head. My thoughts were.....

Why him of all people in the class ? Was the damn universe out to get me or something ? My head was swimming with all the reasons why I shouldn't be partnered with him.

Oh my god ! I wasn't ready for this, I rose out of my seat so fast as the professor ended class. But of course an certain someone wouldn't let me be alone to figure things out.

I was halfway up the hallway when he called after me.

" Willa hold up ! "

And I slowed my pace, turned around reluctantly to face him. I sighed, thought I really wished I was at home. And not have to deal with this right now. I need to stop acting like this.

It's times like these that I wished I could say. " Can't talk right now. I've got work, " but I would be lying. Because I didn't have a job as of yet.

He stood in front of me. His face looked like he was searching for the right thing to say. After seconds he said.......

" Willa come on, " putting his arm over my shoulder, steering me which way to walk.

And here we are at an cafe near campus discussing our joined project. Which I found it easy to talk it over with him. Once I got over some of my fears, I started to feel comfortable. But here I was thinking we wouldn't have any other things that we could talk about outside of the assignment.

Later he surprised me with his take on the project. He was well informed, had great ideas to approach with. I couldn't help but agree with him. And watching him talk about different subjects. I was in awe, until my stomach started to growl.

And it didn't go unnoticed by him either. Then I felt hear creep up my face and neck from embarrassment.

" Should we order something ? I totally forgot about asking if you wanted anything before we sat down, started talking and all. Sorry, " he said clapping his hands together while bowing his head.

" No. It goes both ways. I should've said something, " I told him laughing nervously.

" Well. Okay then I'll head to the counter, order some sandwiches, " he smiled getting up, walked upfront to take his place in line.

As I had my head down, reading over some of the notes we wrote down. I heard an familiar voice, in which I paled as I lifted my head, saw who it was.

" Hey, How are you old friend. I see you're the same as always. Sitting alone, with your nose in the books. Still anti social as ever," my tormentor from highschool stood in front my table with what I'm guessing was his friends as they laughed.

Why of all days did I have to see him. Someone was really out to get me today. I just knew it. But I wasn't going let his comments get to me in the same way it used to. I needed to think level headed. So I gave him a small smile replied.

" I'm working on a project with someone. We took a break, just to let you know I take school seriously. So if you're done. I am busy right now, " I told him, whoever else that was with him as I focus my attention back to my laptop I'd just turned on.

" Yeah right, I don't see anyone. It doesn't even look like anybody else sat at this table. I guess loneliness can make people delusional, " he snorted wrapping his arms around his chest while the others snickered.

Just then, Alex came back but not before having to push his way through the people that surrounded my former bully to get to the table and asked.

" What's going on Willa ? Who are all these people ? " he looked them over placing the tray of food down, taking a seat.

But I said nothing, grabbed a sandwich off the tray, proceeded to unwrap it. Which made the muscle head upset as he kicked our table sending my laptop crashing to the floor.

And I immediately went to the floor to retrieve it. To make sure it was okay. Then I heard two people arguing, looked to see who it was, it was Alex and that bozo. Then Alex threw a punch right to his face knocking him off guard.
















These errors should be overlooked for the time being till I do some editing 😉
