Cold Angel
The pitter-patter of some unknown source filled the woman’s ears. Her hair and clothes were soaking wet so much that she found that a cold chill pulsed through her body, that caused her teeth to chatter. Slowly, she opened her eyes and the rain splashed at her eyes. She blinked trying to flick the ice-cold water from her eyelashes. Then she looked around but it was too dark to make out anything in the near distance. Although, it looked like she was laying upon the earth. She felt the ground beneath her and realised that it was very muddy. Her clothes would be ruined.
How did she get there and where was she? She didn’t know. In fact her mind was a complete blank. She knew nothing about herself. What was her name? Where was she from? It made her panic so much she stood up fast. She could hear her heavy breaths.
"It’ll be okay. I must have bumped my head, that’s why I can’t remember. I will remember." She talked aloud trying to calm her self down, before she set off walking to try and find any signs of life or even just a road she could follow. Her legs wobbled a little because now she realised that her body was aching. But despite her damaged body causing her pain she pushed on forward. The walking got a little easier.
For half an hour she walked the endless fields of grass. However, she could be walking in circles because it was pitch black. There wasn’t even any moonlight or starlight to see by. The night sky was black and heavy clouds covered it.
Her foot caught something and she fell. Her hands stung because they got grazed from breaking her fall. She got to her feet and sighed as she sat down. There was no use, she wouldn’t be able to find a road or anything until morning. Instead of carrying on she decided to lay down on the freezing soaking wet ground and tried to sleep. Hopefully, she made it till sun rise because she knew that there was a high chance that she could die from hypothermia. Despite the shivering she managed to drift off to sleep.

When she woke, she was shocked to find that she no longer was laying on the wet, hard floor. Beneath her was something soft, dry and comfortable. It was a bed. A bed? She sat up quickly and screamed. There was no way she could have woke up here, unless it had all been a dream. It couldn’t be though because she didn’t recognise the room and she still didn’t know her name.
As the bedroom door opened she grabbed a hold of the blanket and held on tight. Her heart began to race. She wanted to run but there was no where she could go. The window was an option but she didn’t know how high it was. What about underneath the bed? Yes, that could be a great place to hide but it was too late. The door was open and it revealed a tall blonde man. His hair was short but messy. His features were highly chiseled. The colour of his eyes were grey and bright. He didn’t look human because he was too handsome. He must be some type of God or angel. This was it she was finally dying. She wasn’t afraid because heaven or where ever you go when you die must be better, than not knowing anything about yourself and being completely alone in this world.
"I’m dying aren’t I?" She asked the man as he entered the room.
"What? No? Why do you think that?" He was shocked at her question.
"Well you’re an angel aren’t you?" She wondered.
"Yes, I am but you are not dying," he replied.
"Then what am I doing here?"
"You was about to freeze to death out in the rain. I couldn’t let that happen," he told her.
"Well thank you," she said. "But I must be going."
"Where will you go?" he asked.
"I don’t really know. I can’t remember where I live but I can’t stay here. I don’t want to be a burden," she explained.
"You don’t remember anything?" He asked.
"What are you talking about? Remember what?"
"Do you not remember who you are?" She was sure she had made that clear.
"No, I do not," she answered slowly so that it was easy to understand.
"Let me show you," he said and approached her. She felt nervous. What was he going to do?
He placed his hand on her forehead and as if by magic all her memories came flooding back.
There was immaculate white buildings, lush green grass and clear blue skies. This place was filled with spirits of dead people but they weren’t sad. They were happy. Heaven was her home. Well it wasn’t anymore because she was a fallen angel. She had no home now. It was her fault; she rebelled because she hated being told what to do. She wanted more freedom, she wanted to live a reckless, rule free and fun filled life. She even remembered her name it was Ariel.
The scene of memories dissapared and she was back to seeing the beauty of that handsome angel. "I remember," she said.
"Welcome back. What is your name?" He asked Ariel.
"My name is Ariel ," she replied.
"Well Ariel there isn’t many angels living on earth so all we have is each other. My name is Elijah and if you let me I’ll show you everything and protect you," he said.
"Well I don’t really know much about earth so yes," she agreed.
That’s how Ariel’s story began, and from that moment on she lived the adventure filled life she had always longed for. She even gained love with Elijah. He even stuck to his promise and showed her it all; from the oceans to the tops of the mountains. He protected her.
