The Monster Of The Murky Blue Lake
Down by the murky blue lake, lurks a blue monster with sharp teeth, red eyes, it’s skin scaly and it’s body of a serpent like creature but the head of something undiscovered.
Everyone in town heard the tale. It terrified them. No one dared venture there, until one brave 23 year old woman, set out to prove them wrong. There was no monster it was just an old legend.
She made a pack lunch. Put it in her backpack and set out to the lake. Heading down the path a few people stared at her but on she walked.
"Don’t go. You’ll regret it," a man called. She shook her head and carried on walking.
She reached the water and sat down at the bank. Took her bag from her shoulders, placing it down. Up and down the river she searched. There was no monster. They were crazy. All in their heads.
She took out her lunch. There was a loud splash. Startled she dropped her lunch and looked back at the water. There was huge ripples, too big for a fish.
She was about to return to her food when something poked it’s head up from the water. It’s eyes crimson and it’s skin cobalt. She fell back. It came out. The monster. They had been right. Unable to move, she watched it emerge from the water. Did something she least expected. It sniffed her food. It wasn’t evil, just hungry.
She opened her food and shared her sandwich.
