Opportunity Knocking On The Door
The days had flown by and almost a month and a half had passed since Michael and Dawn were officially a duo, in paper and all. During these "peaceful" days Michael had become quite adept with magic as he was training hard everyday under Dawn's supervision. Stephanie had finally decided to go back to school and was progress everyday with the help of her brother and Michael was not the school's problem child anymore. In fact, he had made quite some friends, just like Dawn herself, who started to get along with a foreign girl named Tania Bruschell, a sportive girl that was pretty popular in her class.
The sun was shining bright and the birds were singing. It was the 21st of October 2018. The red haired teenager was up early and ready to rock for the day as he was eating breakfast in his kitchen table along with his sister, Stephanie. "That was delicious sis!" He said as he got up from the table. "Will your friends be coming to pick you up?" He continued. "Yeah, they'll be here in a few!" The black haired girl answered cheerfully. "I'm so proud of you!" Michael said petting her head and putting his bag on his back simultaneously. She smiled and ran upstairs to get her bag. "I'll be going then!" He shouted as he unlocked his new bike and rode away from home. "It's 8:07 I'll be there in approximately 4 minutes which means 8:11. If I'm quick enough I may have time to grab some coffee from dowstreet..." He said calculating all the possibilities. "Go!" He said tapping the timer on his phone as he started working the pedals like crazy. Two minutes later, he stopped in front of a coffee shop and swiftly ordered "One cup of cappuccino, make it sweet!" and the girl working on the coffee shop having no other customers whatsover was done with his coffee in about one minute. "Okay it's 8:10. I'll be at school at exactly 8:13!" He said out loud. "Hey, you forgot your change..." The girl on the coffee shop said. "Keep it!" He shouted from affar as he rode his bike away. "It's the same everyday..." She said shaking her head with a smile.
"Just as planned!" He said as he brought his phone to his hand stopping the timer. "Good morning Michael!" A girl said to him as she passed him by. "Good morning!" The red haired teenager replied locking his bicycle. He rolled his blazer's and shirt's sleeves and entered the school. "Hey good morning bro!" A tall and handsome teenager said. He had green eyes and long blonde hair in a man bun. "Good morning man!" Michael said as they did their handshake. He was Luke Sanders. His new friend. "Hey did you watch yesterday's show... Man it was so freaking funny!" Lukesaid resting his arm on Michael's shoulder. "No I didn't unfortunately... My sister wanted to watch an anime series she's being so hooked up on..." The red haired teenager said in disappointment. "Oh man... Your loss, believe me!" The blonde haired teenager said as they both entered the Academy's building. "So where's your tutor at?" He continued. "Man I've no idea honestly..." He said looking out the window. "Missing her already?!" Luke said teasing him. "Miss her?! As if!" Michael said laughing. "Yeah there's no way you'd miss her after that hard training she's put you through! I remember that one day you couldn't move at all from her hits!" The blonde teenager said laughing. "I hope you haven't spoken to anyone about that experience of yours!!" The yellow eyed young man said as he brought his hand to his face. "Speak of the devil..." Michael whispered as he saw Dawn coming his way. "Good morning my apprentice! And you James...?" She said cheerfully and arrogantly. "Good morning!" "It's Luke!" Both of the teenagers replied. "Yeah yeah anyway-" Dawn was interrupted. "Good morning boys!" Tania said in a high volume. "Good morning! Again..." They both said. "So anyway..." Tania was about to say but the school bell ringing interrupted her. "We should get going." Michael implied and starting walking towards the class.
It was at the end of the second period that Michael was looking at the window next to the teacher's desk. He was lost in thought, something pretty usual for him in class. "They did a good job rebuilding that wall huh?" He thought to himself observing the wall that was once broken by the imprisoned Jeffrey Scott. "KING!" The professor's voice was heard. "YEP!! SORRY!" Michael shouted as he wasn't paying attention in class. "You should pay more att-" The teacher was interrupted by a knock on the door. "Uhm, come in." He said briefly. "King Michael and Pierce Dawn the principal needs to see you." An accountant said. Michael and Dawn got up from their seats and the teacher agreed as he said "You may go."
"So what did you need us for?" Michael asked the principal who was sitting at his chair in front of his big window that overlooked the school's back yard. His desk was full of papers and a rectangular shaped badge writting "Principal Howard" stood out. "Today, Pierce, King, we have a job for you." The bald man wearing glasses said playing with his moustache. "What job?" The black haired girl asked. "A job with the police department of the Magical Officers." He explained. "The magical Officers?!" Both of the teenagers wondered. "Yes, if you would be kind enough to follow mister Smith who is waiting for you outside my office to take you to the Police department. There you will speak with officer Moore." The school's principal explained. "Well I guess it's better than thinking about broken walls." Michael said as he left the office and Dawn followed. Moments after the teenagers left the room, the principal picked up his phone and dialed a number. "Yes officer. The plan is going perfectly." He said as he brought his phone to his ear. "These two are the ones we've been looking for. I'm certain. Feel free to test them." Was all he said as he hang up the phone. "Pierce and King huh?"
