On this day a child was born
Only to spend the first year of life
In the care of the system
God opened a door for this child to be adopted
To be given a chance at life Unaware tragedy was about to strike There came a day this young child got to meet death
Not understanding why
Unaware of what the future held
Seventy-nine should have been a year of joy
Only to be met with tragedy again
Yet again seeing a special friend passing
Having the greatest mom to see me through the storms of life There came a day in ninety-nine for the first time in twenty-nine years to feel fear Laying momma to rest realizing there was none to save me from the chaos of life Losing confidence to save one's self from chaos Taking twenty-one years to bounce back from losing my hero It has been a rough journey to rebuild the warrior spirit Never losing my faith to walk in grace
