Morning.
I wake up this morning with my head full of thoughts. I was still struggling to find the reason why Oliver lied to me.
Oliver had already left for work. I was wandering around the house. When I went to the bedroom, I saw a file kept on the bed. I opened it. It was a copy of a case file Oliver is investigating, a series of murders happened in our locality. I started reading that case file, it was interesting. It is interesting because, the cops haven't disclosed any details about the case to the media. When I red it, I found it very interesting. The whole USA don't know much about this case, I felt like I can use this case to build my career.
Today, I was late for work. I spent hours reading the case and now, I'm here, in my office, waiting for Mrs. Ashbury, our Chief Editor to come.
Lens magazine publishes an another magazine called 'List for a month'. This magazine discusses about the political and criminal issues occurred during the past months. It is published once every two month and the last publication was on October. So, If I could convince Ashbury on adding this case in our magazine, it would increase our sales and in turn, it will boost my career.
Few minutes later, Mrs. Ashbury came to the office. I went to her her cabin to talk to her about the case. After an half an hour long discussion, I finally managed to convince Ashbury to look into this case. But, for getting a place in that magazine, she wanted me to work on that case. She wanted me go into the field, do some investigations, collect some photos and interviews for the article. I agreed to work on it though it wasn't my job because, I wanted to make a name for myself.
That day at night, when Oliver came home; I didn't tell him anything about the case. I didn't tell him that, I'm using his case files to make a name for myself. I kept it a secret because, I know it will ruin our relationship.

I didn't waste any time. I have a pile of work to finish and I was excited to experience my first day at field job. According to Oliver's case file, Smith was the first victim so, I decided to start my work from number one. I reached Sunshill by noon. I had to meet Smith's neighbors and interview them. I talked to them about him. They said he and his family were good people, religious and loved parties. Smith used to organize small parties every month for her grand daughter and her friends.
In Oliver's case file, it was mentioned that Smith had an affair with a woman named Jennifer, who used to work in his firm. I went to meet Jennifer. When I asked her about Smith and her affair, she behaved rudely. She pushed me out of the firm. But, I was not ready to give up. I can't waste my day. I need answers from her and I was ready to get it from her at any cost.
I went to the coffee show across the street. I was having my coffee when I saw Jennifer rushing out from the firm, speed walking towards the railway station. I smelt something wrong, something strange and I decided to follow her. I saw her continuously talking to someone over phone. She was crying, sometime yelled loudly during her conversation with the person on the other side of the call. I was walking few meters behind her and was taking her photos.
