The world is such a scary place. It is full of monsters. It wasn’t under your bed or inside your closet. Monsters are those people around you. Waiting for you to walk into a shadow. Then the last thing you’ll remember is that you once felt alive.

“Anybody home?”

I heard a banging sound from my door so I started standing up. I don’t care how I look but I don’t mind either. All I know my whole self is a mess.

I slowly opened the door and I’m surprised. The police are here to arrest me, maybe it is because of the rumors that I killed my wife. I mean how could I even do that? Anyway I should calm down first and know what they actually want.

“What brings you here?” I asked.

“William Fade, you’re under arrest”

And here it goes. I slowly bow down, feeling the cold metal through my wrist. This is a waste of time. I just offer myself and let them see that I’m innocent.

As we went outside the people are starin- wait no. They are glaring at me. It feels like people are suspecting me in killing my own beloved wife. Such fools.

“Go to hell!”

“Do you even call yourself a human?!”

“Yeah! That’s right bitch! You deserve that!”

No. I don’t deserve this. God knows how much I love my wife. Slowly the hot water came down through my cheeks. The heavy rain is pouring through my body.

I felt something heavy through my head. They threw something that hit my head so bad. I feel kind a dizzy but the police officer grab my arm and guide my way.

“Darling? You looked so tired”

I heard a soft voice beside me. I heard Alexandra’s voice. I slowly opened my eyes. Once again, I saw her beautiful face. Alexandra’s left hand is touching my right cheeks. Gently touching like she’s about to kiss me. I grab her hand and started crying.

“Oh God! I mi-miss you so much”

Even though my vision is kind a blurry, I know that Alexandra is smiling at me right now. I can feel my heart is beating so fast. Calling her name.

I love you so much.

“Darling?” I heard her voice again.

“Yes?”

“Wake up”

After that. I slowly opened my eyes. I blinked so many times before I realized that the car is already upside down.

What the hell happened?

I slowly explored my vision knowing the fact that we crashed somewhere I’m not familiar with. I heard someone shouting outside. It was the two police officers that arrested me. What the hell are they doing? Their faces are soaked with blood even their uniforms are a mess.

I heard the other officer with a muscular body preparing his shotgun.

“SHOW YOUR FUCKING FACE!”

I can’t see them clearly because of the blood that running down through my eyes. The fog is also covering my vision, where the hell are we?

“You know what bud? We should just get the hell out of here” said the other officer holding a pistol. He barely hold it properly because his hands are shaking so bad.

“NO! I’LL KILL THAT SON OF A BI-“

Before he even finished his statement, there was a loud growl. Once you heard it, you know something big is coming. The floor is shaking, I can see the dust and rocks are jumping.

As I look around I saw the keys in front of me. I grab it because this might be my only chance to survive. Without any doubt I release my hands and started moving. I’m about to get out of the car when suddenly I heard the shotgun was fired.

“Holy sh-“ said the officer as he shot someone, or more likely something.

The officer is being drag by something terrifying. I can’t see it. The fog is too heavy to witness. The other officer is now shooting.

“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!” Said the last officer standing. When his gun is already out of ammo he started running. He’s running into my direction. He is staring at me like he is about to die.

Until he stops moving. The blood come out through his mouth and his tears started to fall.

“He-Help Me” The officer beg but it was too late now because he was drag by the monster hiding into the shadows.

I can feel my hands shaking. Even the sound of my heart is so loud. The hell is that thing? There was a loud pounding. It feels like something big is walking near my place.

Until it fade-away. I counted one to one hundred before going outside the car. The fog is still thick as hell. Then there was a heavy blow of the wind.

I saw a glimpse of a sign so I started walking near it.

As soon as I saw it. My heart fell on the ground.
