Kim wasn't one to wake before six but unusually today she did. Her alarm clock hadn't buzzed but she stared annoyingly at it as if it already did. It was ten minutes to six. Ten minutes could do so much with her eyes closed. Though she had tried to, she couldn't. She whimpered flailing her hands and legs in anguish from the inability. She huffed.
The light rays broke in through the curtains brightening the room. The cool morning air stole through between the louver blades at the window, gently blowing against the sheer white curtains.
She slid out of bed and stomped lazily towards the bathroom. The revving of an engine stole her attention. She drew the curtains to satisfy her curiosity. It was Shane and he had mounted his motorcycle. He wore his helmet over his head to conceal his face after tucking his hair behind the ears.
"This time?" She wondered staring down at him from the window as he secured his backpack behind him. He was probably making it to school. He craned his head to her house and met her gaze. He waved a hello receiving an equal response from her. He zoomed away on the bike. But this early? She thought with a shrug, purposing to query him later in school. She dashed of to wash down and prepare for school.
--------
When she asked Shane about it, he simply told her that he woke up wanting to be early and about.
"I just wanted to do something different, something new - maybe misbehave a little; you know some bad boy stuff -" He told her as he tossed an apple by the hand, "that's all." Finally he clamped his teeth into an apple walking to the usual basketball squad he hang with.
A walk into the cafeteria and everyone knew where the noise was centered. No one knew what those guys were always excited about, yet they couldn't help but still be drawn into interest. Maybe it was something about the way they all laughed care-freely with each other that made them the most exciting bunch to look at. Kim found it pretty amazing how they simply bonded over whatever it was that held them together.
She stared at them in interest. Knowing them, it was probably girls or them teasing a fellow mate. But whoever said boys don't gossip? And Boy could they be rowdy, but even that could be overlooked. Sometimes they went too far but hey boys are always going to be boys. That could be over looked too.
"Only if girls could bond over things like the guys do." She thought out loud.
"You better say that again." Cassie agreed nodding her head. She averted her attention from the guys to Kim. She stabbed her pasta, coiled it with the fork and swallowed.
"Girls. . ." She said trying to get a hold of the perfect words to make animate her thoughts.
"Uh-huh," Cassie continued, " we're like a cat and his owner. When we're gettin' what we want, all smiles but once the owner pulls our tail, we snap." She clawed her fingers at Kim in a pretend attempt to scratch her face.
"Mm-hmm," Kim agreed chewing on a French fry.
"We do anyway." Cassie said," only some of us can be so bitchy."
"I know," Kim assented with her and continued, "I just think you need to find the truest friend. "
"Sure about that?" Cassie bit the oily skin of a chicken thigh and ripped it off.
Of course," she replied dipping the fry in ketchup, " I mean once that friend is real, you're..."
"Nuh," Cassie intermitted with a shake of her head," besides that."
"That's all I said," she said furrowing her thick brows in confusion.
"'Truest'?" She asked. "Is it even a word?"
"Of course it is." Kim challenged. "Haven't you..." She was stopped in her track.
"Oh never," Cassie shook her head, her long braids giving in to the sway, side by side.
"The fact that you haven't heard something before doesn't meant it doesn't exist." She stated and added, "That's why it's called news, hello."
"Well I'm just saying honey, you'll never know." Cassie took a long drink of chilled coca cola through her straw until all that was left was emptiness. She grabbed it and pushed it away discovering that the relishing savour her throat saw, was fated to a moment of craving torment. She rolled her eyes.
"I'm just saying that if you find the right heart for a friend, it is simply golden."
"I got you the first time," Cassie informed and continued, "- I ain't dumb. The awards on my shelf are enough - you've seen them." She stood to her feet and raked her hair by the claws unto her left bosom.
"OK Case, is this about the rehearsal again?"
"What do you think?" She crossed her arms.
"I already told you I ain't ditching class," Kim reiterated, "Physics in particular. Mr. Walker will definitely call me to answer a question and when he finds out I'm not in, " she sliced her neck with a finger, " I'm dead."
"Have you heard of lying' s foster child?"
"What?" Kim asked completely oblivious of what she said.
"Yuh," Cassie replied," she's called an excuse."
"Come on what kind of excuse do you expect me to give? Ms. Courtney summoned me?"
"The principal method is old," she informed and warned, "and very dangerous. I'll figure something out, don't worry. With my brains and your ruthful face, Walker will have no choice but to believe you."
Kim took her tray, raised herself from the table and waked to the counter to leave it. Cassie grabbed hers and rushed quickly to her side.
"Don't you trust me?" She asked .
"I'm afraid in the present moment not a tiny bit."
They reached the counter and left the trays to be collected by the pantry lady.
"Where's the trust, girl?"
"Girl," Kim said resisted her persuasive voice," I puked it down the toilet the second you tried convincing me."
"OK. . ." Cassie said and halted as she run a train of thoughts to find the most coaxing condition,"say if you do this, I won't ask again," it doesn't seem to convincing enough, the countenance on Kim's face told her," - I promise."
"You'll get me into trouble." Kim whined.
"Trust me, you won't." Cassie assured.
"Anyway what's so..." The sirens sang through the hallway reaching their ears. She rolled her eyes at the thought returning to class; many an anxious minutes under cruel eyes outworn. She had to admit it really was going to be a very long boring talk including formulas and terms she wasn't even comfortable knowing them.
"Don't you worry I know you won't regret."Cassie reassured hooking her arm around Kim's. They exited the cafeteria, brisking to the music room.
One heart pounding with excitement as the other drummed to the beat of fear.

END OF CHAPTER TWO

Chapter 2 seems too long guys and so I'm going to continue with it in the next chapter. So therefore the third chapter is probably gonna be shorter than all the others you've seen so far.
