Words Can Hurt!
What would you say if I told you,
Skinny people get body shamed too?
It happens and it hurts too,
Some of my experiences, I will till you,
Why are you so skinny?
That’s how I have always been
It’s natural,
You’re size zero
No, I’m not,
That’s far too small,
I’m about a size 10,
Sometimes more sometimes less
We’re not even in America,
Zero is not a size here,
You need meat on your bones,
What does that even mean?
Eat more food?
Please, I probably eat more than you
Do you eat enough?
Yes, or I’d be losing weight
Are you anorexic?
No
Bulimic?
No, in fact I’m scared of being sick
Why would I ever force my self to be? Not that I would anyway
You’re too skinny,
No I’m actually not,
That’s just how I am,
When people see me eat or I say I’m hungry,
It’s a different story,
You just ate how can you be hungry?
The portion was too small
Or obviously it didn’t fill me
Didn’t you have your breakfast or dinner?
Yes, but I’m hungry again
Where do you put all the food?
Where do you put yours?
But you're so skinny,
Words hurt,
Don’t shame skinny people,
Don’t shame anyone,
For their body,
Or who they are,
Think before you speak,
Some people are naturally skinny,
Telling them to eat more,
Assuming they are anorexic or Bulimic,
When they already eat lots,
Will upset them,
Even if you don’t realise it.
