У кімнаті тиша, мов тягар, Стіни шепочуть про забутий жаль. На вікнах дощ малює слід самотній, А серце рветься криком безповоротнім. Світло лампи — тьмяне, як її мрії, Що згасли в тіні чужої надії. І кожна хвиля нічної години Шепоче про те, як болить без причини. Де ти, хто мав би тримати за руку? Де слово тепле у цю гірку муку? Та тільки тінь лишається поруч, Як спогад про втрату, що завжди невчас. Вона сидить, мов статуя з криги, І дивиться в небо крізь шибки вологі. А там між зорями, десь вдалині, Загубилось тепло, що сниться у сні.

I saw a dream, and there were you, And there was coldness in your eyes. I wonder what a kind of true Made you become as cold as ice. And later I looked back to get a sense This empty glance was hellish call of past. It used to be a high and strong defense Against the world, the pain and me at last. You looked at me, and peering in your soul, I felt so lonely, as something vital died. And that is what I fear most of all - That nothing gentle will remain inside. Inside of you.
