Open Book
An open book lies on a table
It wants to be read
It wants to be discovered
Yet people pass it by day after day
It is an open book within a culture that doesn't read
Some glance
Some walk past
Then there's one who sits down
To give the book a chance
Yet even then the reader walks away
The book tries something new
Make itself pretty
There are more glances
There are more who walk past now
There are more who sit down
Yet in the end the book is still open and alone
The book tries changing
It doesn't change the cover
It doesn't change it's words
But it changes itself entirely
It become the technology that the ones it's surrounded by crave
It becomes what they want
Because it was an open book in a society that doesn't read
