Cries of Winter Nights
Those naked species,
Moan heart-wrenchingly,
In this deaf world.
With none to cover them,
They shiver from freezing nights,
And beg for quilts,
From bare hearts.
Such ungrateful creatures,
Executed to the fatal cold,
While under warm disguise,
Are the bold creatures home.
Partial was the Almighty,
In His justice,
To shelter the selfish,
And desert the selfless.
