Sweet Scent of Gratitude
When I was a child You weaned me With the jealous care of your arms And those bold beautiful blue skies You gave me for my tender wings Mother hen doesn't kill But she chastizes When she grasps you in her claws You see it in her eyes - the love And it's overflowing With a feeling you cannot say Or even print into time For it's the rarest jewel of all When she screamed There was a pain That simply ripped her apart Though she knew, deep n her heart That if her boy is to make it big Then my tears would make me stronger So she smiles through the pain Now I made it big And I'm on the way to give this flower To my Mama as but a simple 'Thank you' With the first dime I make for myself I run across the street And the boat I row across the river To that old cottage on the hill Where my little feet took their first steps I feel that breeze and I do not know If this is simply enough But I know roses are her favorite So I fly with my now mighty wings As joy overwhelms my grateful heart And yes I run to Mama's room To see that she was asleep A cold nose cannot smell a rossy rose Nor a soulless eye see its beauty I stare at her, pale And my tears cannot flow My heart is silent My mind is blackened My soul is broken My spirit groans out loud I should have given my roses When the heart was warm And the nose was fit To smell the sweet scent of gratitude

I Still Care
I still care Lord God knows I'm true And these I wouldn't dare To forget all that is you Heaven help me that I do not lose myself When I'm forced to discard your perfect face And all that you own in thyself For if I do, I forget to remember my youthful days My clarity is with you, my friend New company doesn't see my worth And the void from you leads to despair I hold on to the memories we share If it means anything to you And I hope you do know That I still care

Lily Among Thorns
I took root in the ground And time grew me to my youth But among thorns was I found A dark shield from the truth O! I strained and i stretched To see beyond the lifeless nights The wretched rules were farfetched From the depths of ominous sights There, no ray of light was That gloom was the soul's death That here and there, did it toss Me, a dying flower, bitter 's wreath But O! A hand did I see Outstretched and into the thick To fight and deliver me to be As free and certain as the tick It came down from above and over Was pierced and ah! It bled In pain and agony until t'was over After dew and sun, I was fed O! A new standing I attained Among the green in the fairest valley All that i desire can be obtained For the greatest hands keep me in that valley I was the lily among the mounds of thorn Shut out from the arms of the light A lily for the good is now reborn In a place and time, and light, ready to fight

Who I Ain't
I'm a ghost in a shell Tryna break loose from this spell I need someone so I can tell But all these chains hold me back as well I try to speak and yet I'm silenced Bound to break me loose from this darkness I call love to come for me I cry Lord,o set me free Is it this bitterness that is inside? Or the envy I have for things that are already mine? Only if I could be happy for them If only i could love who I ain't

Wanting To Love
Have you not a moment to spare? For the present time's so rare And if time was to care He would have frozen at my stare For in a lifetime, the countless things I have got to see Have no chance to compare themselves to thee And if they were to be Then heaven fall on me But if you allow me a gentle kiss on your hand Then mellow will I into sand Or need will my hand a band To hold this conquered heart in strand To your name do ears throng Speak ma belle and let me hear a song Of sirens in the infinite ocean, deep and long Is to dote and admire a wrong? Give me your name that is And maybe this could work if You could only let me in I am a stranger wanting to love

Fallen
A stroll down the pavements of life And I lift my head to the clouds Why art thou gloomy and grey? And they said that the light of the sun has been taken from their eyes A villainous time indeed for a great mountain has fallen And many hearts, ripped out by the sullen shake The great wind blew and the mountain had to bow The mighty eagle flew and found no home And 'tis a beautiful pain, o nature's law That a man makes the run From the cradle to the grave O fickle time why entangle one I hold dearest? For a father you stole; a brother their own They say that experience is the best teacher But I say that having you as a teacher was the best experience Tell the angel of the dark That he has stolen all the tea in China My cold soul will ne'er know warmth; I know he lived and he loved A model that time cannot dispatch For I knew him for a line in time Tell those who came for their son That souls have been tormented And though as painful as it is A bleeding heart must say, 'Adieu, rest in the perfect peace of Abraham's boss'm

Heart Ache
It starts with a gasp I run and I fall It is agonizing I cry and i crawl A great pain And a sore anguish It stabs to the core It hurts and torments Ah! it tortures In too deep But it is a burning fire A delightful pleasure The pleasure's for pain An ache from the sane O I know That I thrust it upon myself For I dose on it all day It rips and tears the inside Yet I run and lend a heart for it

The Man of Wicked Devices
The man of wicked devices Is a king seated on a throne of filth He hath all too many vices Stripping his subjects of their penurious wealth Living in all the pleasure and splendour the world provides Yet he knows not that it is to his own demise For the day when the Poet gives justice He will surely be on the blacklist

Who Stand With You
I lifted my hands to the clouds To reach the heights I aspire to be But my very own shadow pulls me down I hit the ground and bite the dust I turned to look at myself in the mirror To understand myself, to love myself But my reflection turns away to show me his back The glass is shattered and so is my soul I stood up to be outspoken And my skin peeled away from my bones My heart refused to beat When I dared to chase my dreams They are all smiles for the streets They are all scowls for the soul They won't show it in their eyes Neither will they say it But when the spirit is stuck in quicksand Arisen like the sun, is a chance to see the true Who stand with you by the hand through the blasts of winter

Below The Waters
The great eagle flew Aloft into the limitless sky Into galaxies, space and time Scoured thro' the lines and sands in time And saw beauteous meteors, comets and stars But a spy brings to descension From the clouds above onto the earth For something caught his eye A grimy ground: a mossy mound No rocky terrain or peak Yet something more lies below the waters It lingers unto hope  For all that's been given up Patience can nurture the ground to excellence

The Fear of Losing Thee
I close my eyes and all I see Is you and me And all those memories Of our beautiful infancy When we were free Like birds singing in a tree Apart life has brought us to be But if to time I could pay a fee My all would I give to see That what may we will be Back to our youthful infancy When you and me were young and free O I miss those times when we Played among the heaps of leaves we'd see I remember when I'd fall on thee On the grass that was green Like those eyes that cried on me When they said that our fantasy Was no reality That we believed in a fallacy Of me forever being with thee Those eyes swallowed me And I drowned in the sea Of never ending remedies To sadness that fear let me see It was the fear of losing thee Never should I have had that fear in me For what I feared most has befallen upon me What I feared most has killed me

Be Not Evanescent
Dare not compare her eyes to the moon For an attempt is sure to be doom Like a bird, she sings to a tune That wakens the buds to a sweet nature's bloom When heaven buries her amber treasure Thou shall not fear for her skin juts many a shimmering light Men do risk being blind for mere pleasure And lies there no crime in a feeling so damn right Fairer than the fairest she is That the dark angel in tears envies That a mortal creature holds beauty as this For even a frozen heart thaws upon her kisses Be not evanescent my dear And for eternity be by my side right here

All That He Has
He says that I'm too old That my fairness had its glorious days That all he has for me now is a cold shoulder He knows not that to time my beauty was sold But he stands up not to hear my case And my heart faintly grows colder
