Frozen Ice
Sad eyes peered through the black night
Hers was a story of frostbite
Through the years of hidden hurts
she'd mastered the art of deceptive lies
Joyful facades to herself so blithe
Pretentious wellness to all around
A smile and a wave always did the trick
An Aspirin each night kept the aches at bay
But now she lay, so sore and cold
Frozen by the numbness of a million sores
Thawless by the misery, of pretentious warmth
Sorrows from the past, unleashing fresh swords of wrath
Slashing her soul, until she's blistered to death
In the darkest night, she lays awry
Askew by the torments, of her life
Upon rumpled sheets, of her distorted being
She looks askance in the dreary dark
Wafting through time in glaciers of ice
Drowning in the frost of her despairing heart
All hope seems lost in her coffin of grief
Yet if she'll look, above her anguish
Seeking anew, to receive Christ's precious gift
His perfect Love beyond her flaws
She would be mended and thawed again
Fully defrost from her hardened heart
A new lease of life, shall be given to her
In perfect symphony of the Love of Christ
Where true healing dwells, in the warmth of Grace
Beyond her weakness and all her wrongs
From her would be taken her crown of thorns
Fully replaced with the throne of Grace
Where all her troublers shall be found no more
Including her haters and tormenting faults
