That One Bird
A million little worlds fluttered inside me
Caged and flying, lively and dead
Inside me like a jar of lights
And in darkness, I overheard death
Chirping like little scavengers
Sometimes tiny hums
All paused and broken by loud noises
They have fashionable outfits.
There were flying ones but I had to unlock some
The ones caged within
For they knew not where they come from
Or where they have to go,
So I let them all go and live
But just one stayed...
The one obscured within
The one that less travelled...
The one that was so me, and I never knew...
The one I finally became.
