Daniel went home defeated. His father was disappointed with him."Is what I heard from your principal true?" Daniel heard his father's voice as he entered the door. He looked down not knowing what to say."What happened to my baby boy?" His mother said going to Daniel and hugging him."You are the one who spoilt him. Listen to me carefully. Am going to call Maria here so that she can teach you sports too."
       On hearing the name Maria, Daniel looked up and said,"am going to my room. Am not feeling well." He left and his father shouted,"am calling her now, so you should be ready." His mother was worried and followed Daniel but he has already locked himself inside. He kept thinking about Maria and the words of Rihanna."Why is this happening with me?"
       Then he heard a knock on the door."Am not in the mood to learn. Just go away!" But he did not hear the voice he wanted to hear."It's us,your friends. Your mom called us. Now open the door." He opened the door and his friends entered."We heard your dad talking to Maria. But it seems she is not going to come." Daniel never said anything. He kept quiet.
        "Hey! I heard your dad wants to tell her to teach you sport too. Won't it be amazing? I mean like isn't she beautiful but trying to act like a nerd?" Daniel looked at his friend and thought for a minute."I think my friend is right. Just like her friend said,"if you are reading a book, never look at the outside but inside." He nodded to himself and smiled. His friends wondered.
     "Are you ok? Why are you nodding?" He smiled and said,"Uhh....nothing." He rushed downstairs to meet his parents before his friends could say any more. He arrived downstairs and saw his dad talking on the phone."Dad! Tell her to come. I want to start my lessons." His father wondered."Am talking to Ben's father."
       Embarrassed, Daniel looked at the floor. He went to the backyard and sat on the swing. He scanned through his phone and saw Maria's number. Then he remembered his words,"I will make sure I take her number before she goes. And I will tell her about the dress." He smiled to himself and thought of a plan."I will change the number and talk with her in my new number. She will never know."
      He went and did as he said and messaged Maria,"hi, you indeed looked beautiful in that dress I chose."  He sent the message and looked at her name. Maria received the message and checked it. After reading the message, she was confused."What is wrong? You look confuse." Rihanna asked and Maria showed her the message."Woow! You have a fan already or should I say an admirer?"
         Maria just shook her head and replied,"which dress?" And then after a few minute, she received a message."The dress which you wore at the competition." Maria was even more confused and she replied,"am sorry I don't know you." She received a message telling her to meet the person at the park."If you are going to meet him, then you should wear a beautiful dress."
      But Maria never listened to her friend and wore her normal clothes."Atleast remove those glasses." Rihanna said and removed the glasses from her eyes."Rihanna! What are you doing?" She threw it and it fell to the ground and broke into pieces."Oops! You don't have any choice." Rihanna said and pushed Maria out of the door. Maria wanted to say something but Rihanna said,"he is waiting! Bye!" And she shut the door.
      Maria arrived at the park but never saw anyone. Some boys came and surrounded her."Look what we have got here boys! Isn't she attractive?" The boys were drunk and Maria moved away. They went and blocked her way."Look at her trying to feel shy. I wonder how she tastes." One of the boys said and they all laughed. When he was about to move closer to Maria and touch her, a hand grabbed the boy's hand and someone stood infront of Maria.
     "Hey! Stay away. She is our girl. We have found her first!" They tried to push him but the boy just stood still. Maria could not see his face properly as he was wearing a hoody."If you want to be beaten and thrown out of here then try and touch her." One of the boy moved closer and was about to touch Maria when his hand was held and he was turned around."Ouch... My hand! What are you guys waiting for? Beat him."
      But they were defeated and they ran away. Maria smiled and said,"thank you for saving my life. I think you will owe me." But the boy never looked at Maria and went away."He is such a nice boy. If it were not for him then I don't know how my life would have been." Daniel smiled after he heard that and said,"atleast that is what I could do for the mistakes I have done."
      Maria then happily went and told the story to Rihanna."Woow! A hero came. Amazing. I think someone will fall in love." Maria shook her head and said,"are you crazy? I have not even seen his face." Rihanna laughed and said,"if you could have seen his face then you could have fallen in love right?" Maria kept quiet and Rihanna said,"that means yes. Well then, I will find him for you."
       Rihanna went and Maria smiled. She kept thinking about the boy and on the other side, Daniel kept thinking about her. She received a message at night when she was about to sleep."Are you awake? You really looked beautiful at the park." Maria wondered and saw the message was from the same unknown number."What do you want from me? If you don't stop spying on me then I might inform the police."
        She blocked the number but then she received a call from Daniel. She answered and Daniel asked her if she was ok. She replied and asked him what he wanted."I think dad told you about my lessons. I want to start tomorrow morning as it is a weekend." Maria was surprised but she accepted. She wanted to hang up but Daniel added,"and also, before you hang up, I would like to apologize for whatever I have done to you. And forgive me if I have ever hurt you."
        Daniel hanged up the phone before Maria could say anything."What has happened to him that I think is changing him? Or is it just my imagination? I must find out." Maria said and went to bed."Am I falling in love with her? Is she changing me? Why do I keep thinking about her? I think am in love." Daniel said to himself and went to sleep smiling.
