THE ROOT
They walked along a long corridor that was lit by only a couple of broken flashing lights. Skylar's eyes were drawn to one office. It had a desktop with a computer and a folder. Opening it, Skylar read its contents:
"2020, September 17, scientists found a body that looked like a ghost in a cave. It was bleeding and vulnerable. Smoke and characteristic toxic odor emanated from it. Scientists took him for research. It turned out that his cells were not yet discovered by science and may have been of extraterrestrial origin. After dozens of studies, it turned out that the ghost needed a host. A body that he could control. We needed a patient who was at the peak of insanity with a broken psyche, which could be easily controlled. The morphogenetic engine created by Dr. Wernicke was suitable for this.
One of the doctors said that in fact, the future host had to go through 3 or 4 stages;
1) The patient had to show nobility. As proof, he cited the fact that the ghost ripped out the hearts of mentally 'callous' patients. Serial killers, rapists and the like.
2) The carrier needs to go through a 'metaphorical' hell. He must feel pain, both physical and mental.
3) He must experience a sense of loss. Loss of a loved one. Pain changes people, maybe this is what doc wanted to convey.
Personally, I'm more inclined towards the effectiveness of Dr. Wernicke's method, but I'm just a big shot, not a scientist.
@Kyle Smith"
'That's ridiculous' ;-the first thing Skylar thought after reading the document.
'If a ghost kills all people who are 'callous' in his opinion, then I am one of that number. I killed a dozen other people. But why didn't he punch a hole in my chest as soon as he saw me? It's just crazy.' ;-thought Skylar.
-Skylar, why are you staying here? ;-with surprise asked Scarlett, going into the room to Skylar.
-Nothing, let's go further...
