They went into a spacious recreation room. On one of the beds there was a patient who disfigured the body of some unknown person. There was no face. This made Scarlett's blood cool. She screamed, turning away. Then she ran away, huddled in the corner of some office. It scared Scarlett to death. The priest walked down the hallway until he found Scarlett.
-I'm sorry, child. I didn't want you to see this. I beg your pardon, Almighty! I will do my best to help her maintain her last vestige of common sense... that was taken from all of us...
He walked over to Scarlett.
-Please let me help you. I will protect you until my death, if only you reunite with your sister. Please take my hand. ;-after which the priest held out his hand to her.
'Can I believe his words? I'm scared... Skylar, why? Why aren't you with me now? Why...' ;-Scarlett moaned in her mind.
She finally accepted the priest's hand, but she was still afraid of him.
