Before he knew it, the authorities showed up at the house, armed and cautious.

Nevertheless, they entered the house, where they saw Shawn sitting between his parents with the murder weapon in hand.

"Put down the weapon, and slowly walk forward!" They shouted as they aimed their guns at the boy.

"They're dead, they're dead, they're dead!" He repeatedly shouted.

He dropped the knife, and the officers rushed to restrain him.

"What's this?" He asked as he watched them place hand cuffs on him.

"Let me go!" He fought as he attempted to squirm away.

"I didn't do it!, Let me go you jerk!" He shouted while he continued to fight.

They quickly hauled him away, while placing any and all evidence in zip lock bags.

Tears ran down Shawn face once more as they started the car engine.

He stared out the window and gazed at the house he once loved.

The purity that once resided in the boy vanished, as the only thought he had in his mind was the death of his older brother.

"I'll kill him, he should be dead, I'll kill him" he chanted under his breath.

The vehicle stopped, the officers jumped out the car and opened his door.

"Get out here" they barked while pulling him out.

" lets go get you settled" they rushed while pushing him forward.

" Juvenile detention" he read the sign as they coaxed him into the building.

"Well kid, this is your new home" he patted his shoulder.

A large man, with a beard and round belly, guided Shawn to his bed, while the officers left him in the care of the
Juvenile detention center.

He was guided to a room, where many beds went down a line.

"Here this one is empty" he stated while allowing Shawn to continue on his own.

"Punishment will be given, if you're seen out of bed, punishment will be given if you cause any disturbance in this facility, punishment will be given if you miss any appointments, with that being said I'll find you in the morning to get you settled in"  he stated before leaving young Shawn to his own thoughts.

Tears strayed from his eyes, as he lay there in the foreign bed.

Thoughts of his brother danced in his mind, the brother he followed around happily.

Vanished before him. He lay there wondering why, he couldn't figure out why his brother would do such a thing.

He started to feel groggy, with a slight headache, his body was hot as a fire.

Before he could get out of bed or call for help, his eyes closed from exhaustion.

Chase finally stopped running and slid down a large building, it was too dark to see and he was tired, beyond belief.

He gripped his shaking hands, as he teared up.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry Shawn!" He cried out as he hit his head against the building.

The flashes of his father, and step mother flashed before his eyes, as the image of them shouting and laying dead at his feet replayed numerous times, the look of horror, and shock on his younger brother face haunted him.

"They were going to sell him" he whispered to himself.

"I did the right thing, I protected him, he'll understand I'm sure of it" he stated to calm himself down.

He laid his head down on his knees, to try and catch some sleep.
