I believe you
Chapter 7
"Tsk, dead end" he groaned as he begun to panic.
The father and son caught up, and cautiously approached.
"Be careful Ken, don't corner an injured animal" he warned in a worried tone.
" Stay back! Everytime they asked that question they punished me!" He screamed.
As if his hair had its own will, the angrier and unsafe he felt, Shawn hair danced wildly.
"Hey, we're not like that we have abilities too, but we won't hit you or do anything you're not okay with" Kenneth stated warmly.
" I have a younger sister around your age, the things you went through I wouldn't want for anyone specially a kid" he sighed as he knelt down.
"you, you believe me?" Shawn asked.
"Kenneth..." His father looked between Shawn and his son.
" Yeah, I believe you didn't do it" Kenneth stated in a more cheerful tone.
Unlike the hard mask he wore, he dropped down into tears as he allowed himself to properly cry out his worries.
"They kept saying it was my fault!" He cried out.
"No matter how much I told on my brother, no one believed me!" He sobbed as he stared up at the two strangers.
" Dad..." Kenneth motioned for him to go to Shawn.
Terry sighed as he walked passed his son, and towards Shawn who small figure seemed even smaller.
"Look at that, he really is a kid" he muttered as he picked his sobbing frame up and carried him back to the room.
He dozed off as soon as they reached the room, allowing them to place him in the bed before leaving him to sleep.
"That have to suck" Kenneth stated after yawning.
"Imagine how he feels, he witnessed his brother slaughter their parents" he stated in a sad tone.
" His hair still have dry blood on it, he killed our guards, how do we know he didn't kill his parents as well?" Terry questioned in a low worried tone.
" The kid is unstable, you have a mother and a younger sister back at home, we need to make other arrangements for this kid" he stated in a Stern tone.
" He's an orphan, and I don't think he's all that dangerous as an ally, he can go to school with Ari and protect her" Kenneth stated in a matter of fact tone.
" Mom said she wanted more kids in the house, it's a pretty big house dad"Kenneth added.
" Fine fine, you're really feeling for this kid" he sighed as he leaned backwards.
"think about it, he's 10 and watched his brother murder his family, and he isn't completely lost, that takes alot of heart" he stated.
" Wash his hair when he awakes, and make sure he eats" he demanded.
" Another thing, if you truly care for him, and want him with us he needs to change his name, and possibly get a haircut" he ordered once more.
"I doubt he'll let us cut his hair" Kenneth sighed while walking away.
A small yawn escaped his mouth as he walked up the stairs "I should get some rest" he stretched.
He entered an empty room, where there was a small bed, and a large window to stare out of.
He gazed out of the window for a short time, before sitting in the bed deep in thought.
"10 years old, and he already witnessed murder of his family, and was subjected to harsh treatment at the institute" he stated while laying back again the bed.
"I'll think about it in the morning" he mutters before turning over and closing his eyes.
