I was walking with Abbie to school, reluctantly because I was too excited to cope with the boring torture of school. Abbie was my best friend, the one I met the first day of High School and she had been the kindest person I had met there.

She had seen me all by myself, looking around all awkwardly not wanting to go up and speak with anyone. I wasn't exactly shy but I didn't really know how to make friends the only true friend I ever had was Alex, but he had moved away and I didn't have anyone else I could call a real friend that was until I met Abbie.

She had come and sat by me at dinner time and started talking to me. Soon we realized we had quite a bit in common.

"He's coming today. He's in a film," I told her after she asked me about him.

"That's awesome," she said with a smile on her light brown face. She was half African on her dad's side.

"Yeah, very," I agreed and nodded my head.

"I can't wait to see the look on Natalie's face when she finds out," she said.

"What do you mean?" I wondered.

"When she finds out you're friends with him," she answered. I looked at her, eyebrows raised.

"How will she find out?" I wondered.

"By coming up with a plan that will get her to see you with him," she stated.

Sometimes she could be as devious and cunning as Natalie but definitely not as mean or cruel as her. She wouldn't do anything to hurt anyone's feelings, unlike Natalie she was kind.

"Oh," I said. "Well let's think of a plan later we need to get to School," I added in urgency because we were already running late.

When we finally arrived at School all the year 11 students were queuing up outside the hall waiting to be let in for assembly, so we joined at the back of the somewhat unorganized and scattered line. Sometime later Abbie and I were let inside.

We headed for the only seats left. Some at the front; the seats that no one wanted. Everyone naturally started filling the seats from the back instead of the front so that they couldn't be seen talking and doing other things by the teachers.

We sat down as the head of the year stepped forwards getting ready to talk. Getting ready to start talking about the same old boring stuff we all heard a million times by now.

"As some of you may already know that there is going to be filming of a new movie in the town centre and they might even filming a scene right here in the School," he started.

There was a quiet chatter among the students.

"Well anyway, the star of the show Alex Jonson will be attending school here while filming takes place," he added.

This made most of the girls giddy and extremely noisy. They cheered and clapped, some even screamed.

Stupid girls! I thought. They only liked him for his looks not for who he was, but I bet some of them declared they loved him. Whereas I actually liked him for him but not in a loving sort of way.

Don't get me wrong there were a few celebrity men I thought was good looking but it didn't go past just that. I didn't really know them so how could it? Granted I would be ecstatic if I got to meet one of my idols, but the way some these girls was reacting was just ridiculous. I just shook my head and glanced to my side looking at Abbie. She seemed to think they were overreacting too.

"Okay, settle down," the teacher ordered.

The hall then fell silent. Then the teacher began to proceed with the normal assembly stuff until the bell rang signalling the beginning of class.

We were all let out one row at a time and Abbie and I was the first to be let out. We headed to our class when Natalie and her friends barraged past us. I could tell it was her from her bleached blonde tips. My best friend and I each gave them a scowling look, but they didn't see because they had their backs turned from us.

"I can't believe he's coming here to this School. It's a chance to get to know him. We will be together," she said, her words making my blood boil.

No way would she ever date Alex. I wouldn't let her. Not that he ever would, but still I couldn't help to glare at the back of her head and clench my hands into fists.

The two of us followed them not just because we were stalking them so that we could listen to their conversation, but because our class was genuinely in this direction too.

"And you think he'll like you?" Her friend Kimberly asked.

No, I thought.

"Of course what boy has never liked me before except for when they are gay? Besides he's not going to like any of the other poor loser girls at School is he, like that Alex? And I'm the most beautiful girl at this school," she replied.

"Besides me?" Kimberly wondered. Her voice was low and clearly stated she seemed a little upset.

"Of course," Natalie replied. "So he's bound to say yes to me," she added.

"Yeah, right," Abbie whispered a little too loudly because they seemed to hear it.

They stop still in their tracks and we did the same. I let my hands relax, dropping the fists. They both turned around to face us.

"Did you say something loser?" Natalie asked, folding her arms glaring at Abbie.

"Yeah, what makes you so certain he's going to like you when there are lots more girls at this School?" Abbie asked.

"What makes me think? Well maybe for the facts that I'm beautiful and rich or and the fact that he'd never date a loser like you two," she answered, smugly.

"And there's more to a person than just their looks and how much money they have," Abbie pointed out.

She didn't reply and her arms fell to her side in defeat. She looked from Abbie to me and then back again.

"Besides I actually know him and I know that you're not his type. He doesn't date stuck up evil bitches like you," I said, unsure of where I was getting my burst of courage.

"How dare you call me that? And whatever loser, like you, could possibly know him," she said then snickered and turned around and headed off down the corridor.

Kimberly turned around and hurried after her.

"You'll see," I called after them and then both of us headed towards our class too.

I wanted to come up with a plan for Abbie's idea more than anything now. It was going to be easy peasy, now that he was coming to School here. A huge grin formed on my face as we approached the classroom door.
