Chapter 7- Bullies

I headed for a seat at the back of the classroom, but Natalie who must of entered just after me barged past me hitting me with painful force. Failing to keep my balance I fell to the floor with a bang. My leg and bottom now  hurting as well as my shoulder, where she walked into me. I glared up at her with a death stare to see she had stopped walking.

"Sorry didn’t see you there," she said, but I knew she was lying.  That in fact she had done it on purpose.

Then she carried on walking and headed to the seat I was going to sit in. I scrambled up off the floor with bit of a struggle. Once on my feet I noticed everyone was staring at me. "Why don’t you all take a picture it will last longer?" When I said this they all turned away except the teacher called Mrs Lane, who actually looked a little concerned.

"Are you OK?" She asked.

"I’ll be fine.  You do know she did that on purpose right?" I said.

"Ellie it was an accident.  If she did it on purpose why would she apologise?" To make you think that it was an accident so that she doesn’t get in trouble, I thought but didn’t say it. What was the point? She wouldn’t believe me.

"Go take a seat," Mrs Lane added so I did so in one of the remaining seats.

A few minutes later there came a knock on the door. "Come in," she said.

In walked the headmaster and Alex. No way he’s in my form.  Let’s just hope he is in some of my classes as well. The headmaster said something to the teacher and then left the room. Our teacher turned to Alex. "Go sit down, in the spare seat next to Ellie," Mrs Lane told him.

He did just that and we shared a smile and a hello before Mrs Lane called out the names on the register. She called out every single name until here eyes fell on Alex. "I guess I don’t need to ask you, your name," she stated and then wrote his name at the bottom of the register.

"I guess you don’t but what is your name miss?" Alex asked her.

"Mrs Lane," she replied.

"OK, Mrs Lane."

A few seconds later she called on me to hand out the work booklets and I agreed, so I stood up from my seat and walked to the front of the classroom to get them. When I reached her desk she handed them to me and then I started from the front, making my way to the back to where me and Alex sat. I placed a few booklets on each table, just enough for the amount of students on the table.

Now, I came to Natalie’s table so I slowed down and approached carefully because I didn’t know if she had anything else planned. Knowing her though she probably did. I placed her table’s booklets on the table at arms length.

"Thank you loser. You think you have a chance, but you’re nothing and I always get what I want, and I want Alex," she said smugly and with a smirk in her face.

"He will never like you," I told her.

"Of course he will. All boys do," she said.

"No he won’t. He isn’t like other boys at this School who think you are irresistible. You aren’t his type." I tried my hardest not to raise my voice at her, but she made my blood boil.

"And who is his type? You? No because how could he like a pathetic-ugly girl like you. I will get him, just like I did with Luke. You remember Luke don’t you? The boy you dated for two month until I made him break up with you and now he denies that you even went out. I will do that again, because I get what I want and you can’t stop me," she said. Tears began to fill my eyes, but no way would I let her see that she had upset me, so I stormed away my heart feeling broken just like that event she mentioned. I thought Luke had liked me, but Natalie got into his brain and he left me after two years of friendship and two months of being a couple. She was right she did get everything, but not this time. Alex would never leave me. Never.

I reached the last table and slumped down on the seat next to Alex, placing my head on the table, in frustration and sadness. Plus, I didn’t want him to see me crying.

"Are you alright, El?" He asked me.

I lifted my head when, I managed to stop crying. "Yes, I’m fine," I sobbed.

"No, you aren’t. That girl said something to upset you didn’t she? What did she say?" He wondered and I sighed. I should have known I couldn’t pretend that I was okay.

Before I could reply the teacher ordered us to be quiet. "Be quite and do your work," she demanded.

"I will tell you later," I told him and then opened my booklet and grabbed my pen.
