Летіли по полю гармати, Наповнялися очі слізьми В цей час пішов брат на брата Цнотливої тої весни. Ішли добровольці й контрактники, Кохані мужі і тати, Відважні собі кулеметники, Батьківщину свою берегти. Плинув час неспокійно й не тихо. Сотні душ покинули нас. Зосталась Вкраїна заквітчана лихом, І вогник краси вже погас. Так важко збагнути ту річ, Що хтозна коли скінчиться це пекло. Можливо колись в полуніч Відступить від нас небезпека. У збідованих горем жінок З'явиться усмішка вже на обличчі. І дитинку розбудить світанок. І татусик загляне їй в вічі.
