Alone in the night,
It's only a distant, baseless flight.
Temptation abounds
But it's never around.
Just an illusion never to be found.
Hope trips and fades,
Lingering, yet not sated.

Sighs echo in dark,
Wistful desire in stark.
Thoughts too complex, ere we embark.
