Жовтий місяць сяє, По небу гуляє. Дівчинонька гляне, Й посмішка заграє. Він усе розкаже - Доленьку покаже. А як взнаєш - серце мліє, Бо скоро миленький пригріє. А там уже весілля і своя хатина, А он у колисці маленька дитина. Так дивилася, гадала, Доки мати не позвала. "Чом, донечко, ти такая - Наче глухая та німая? Тебе коли не позову - У відповідь і ні "гу-гу"." "І не глуха я, й не німа. Замріялась я, молода, Про доленьку мою подальшу, Весілля, хату й внуча ваше."

And later I looked back to get a sense This empty glance was hellish call of past. It used to be a high and strong defense Against the world, the pain and me at last. You looked at me, and peering in your soul, I felt so lonely, as something vital died. And that is what I fear most of all - That nothing gentle will remain inside. Inside of you. Inside of me as well. And nothing will be said to farewell.
