В мене до нього щось не зрозуміле… Ні слово, ні звук, Та ніби між нами невидимий рух. Погляд ловлю, і серце тремтить, А розум питає: навіщо болить? Не кличу, не знаю, чи хочу, чи ні, Та думки про нього — мов зорі в мені. Забути не можу, тримає в мені Те щось незрозуміле — і в снах, і в житті. Він — ніби ближній, і ніби чужий… А я все мовчу — і в думках знову з ним. Я думала — пройде, розчиниться в дні, Та з кожним ще більше живе він в мені. Сама собі брешу, ховаюсь в словах, А серце кричить про нього в думках. Це більше, ніж просто хвилинне тепло, Це те, що без нього в мені не жило. Зізнаюся тихо — нехай без прикрас: Мабуть, покохала… хоч і вкрай не на час.

I saw a dream, and there were you, And there was coldness in your eyes. I wonder what a kind of true Made you become as cold as ice. And later I looked back to get a sense This empty glance was hellish call of past. It used to be a high and strong defense Against the world, the pain and me at last. You looked at me, and peering in your soul, I felt so lonely, as something vital died. And that is what I fear most of all - That nothing gentle will remain inside. Inside of you. Inside of me as well. And nothing will be said to farewell.
