Крізь подих світла і добра. Подаруй нам Господи життя, де панує мир, а не війна, І щастям були б наповнені серця. Подаруй нам Господи життя, Де знов до нас прийшла б Весна, Розквітла б тоді на березі Дніпра Червона калина, гарна й запашна. Дощем, щоб вмилася земля. Навіки щезли сльози у дитя, Яке колись ховалось в укриття, Щоб зберегти своє мале життя . Де свої пісні співали б солов'ї І повернулися назад всі журавлі. Додому, до рідної, коханої землі. Прошу, щоб всі повернулися живі.

And later I looked back to get a sense This empty glance was hellish call of past. It used to be a high and strong defense Against the world, the pain and me at last. You looked at me, and peering in your soul, I felt so lonely, as something vital died. And that is what I fear most of all - That nothing gentle will remain inside. Inside of you. Inside of me as well. And nothing will be said to farewell.
