Тихий шепіт осіннього дощу Розкаже все, про ту лиху зиму Коли вночі, зупиняти мусили орду Тоді зловісний грім приніс біду З жаху чорний зібраний букет Зруйнував останній мирний день Ніхто тепер не виходить на паркет Ніхто не співає більше тут пісень Посмішки зійшли з облич людей Птахів не чутно, навіть вітер стих Посеред тих страшних ночей Чутно лиш дощ із наших сліз гірких Червоні ріки і жах посеред хмар Привів сюди скажений, дикий кат А ми згадуємо рідний наш Кобзар Коли стріляє кат по нас з гармат Одного той жорстокий кат не знав Що сильний й вільний тут живе народ І волю він свою понад усе завжди кохав Не відмовиться він ніколи від своїх свобод

I saw a dream, and there were you, And there was coldness in your eyes. I wonder what a kind of true Made you become as cold as ice. And later I looked back to get a sense This empty glance was hellish call of past. It used to be a high and strong defense Against the world, the pain and me at last.
