Don't Be Late!
Hey, it's me, Wraith AKA Aaron! After the incident at B.L.U. and the harsh talking-to Dr. Steinn gave me, I got a first taste of just how difficult my job is gonna be. That's why I decided to be more serious about it all. Speaking of Dr. Steinn, though, he added a notification function to my wrist watch, so as to not have a repeat of the whole "missed calls" ordeal ever again. The only catch is that I have to wear it 24/7... I myself began going on daily patrols around the city, trying to stop any crime in the neighborhood, even minor ones like a thief snatching a granny's handbag (Yeah that actually happened…). All in all, whilst I had less time to be "Aaron", the name of "Wraith" was all over the news day in and day out, and before I knew it I was already a thing. Things like "The Masked Vigilante Strikes Again!" and "Wraith: The Real Superhero Of Queens!" are examples of daily newspaper headlines. In the time span of just a week, I've grown more accustomed to my duties as "Wraith" and before I knew it, it's already time to attend High School! So let's hop into it, shall we?

"...."

*riiing riiiing*

"Shhhh…"

*RIING RIING*

"Oh shut up!" Aaron yells while slamming his hand on his table clock besides his bed.

Groggily and unwillingly he removes the covers from his body and touches the cold ground barefoot. "I swear it's only October… It has no right to be this cold…" He mumbles as he walks to the bathroom.

After freshening up he quickly checks his phone and notices a message notification popping up. The name of the sender is none other than his neighbor, and new friend: Olivia.

O: Open the window dum-dum!

"Dum-dum…" Aaron chuckles at her choice of words as he moves to the window. As soon as he opens the window he comes face-to-face with Olivia sitting on the fire escape ladder. "You summoned me, milady?" Aaron says while giving an elegant bow.

"Hehe, Good morning mister!" She comically plays along after a light giggle and a soldier salute.

"Good morning, so what do I owe the pleasure to?" Aaron says while wearing a zipped-hoodie and sitting down onto the fire escape.

"So since it's the first day of school today and all…" Olivia comes out and says while scratching her cheek and looking the other way.

"I was wondering…"

"You were wondering…?"

"If uhm… you'd like to go to school together?" She finally manages to spit out, albeit in a low voice.

"What? I didn't quite catch that…" Aaron says while edging closer to her.

"...I said, do you wanna go to school together?!" This time she comes off as too loud, as she shouts at the top of her lungs and some pigeons fly away in a terrified manner from the opposite building. As soon as she realizes, Olivia brings her hands in front of her face while Aaron bursts out laughing.

"Stop laughing!!" Olivia says in an extremely high-pitched and flustered voice.

"Sorry sorry!" He says while wiping away a tear with his finger. "I'd love-" Aaron is about to say as he cuts himself off.

Crap!!!! I said I'd go on patrol before school, didn't I? That's why I got up so early in the first place!

"You'd love...?" She smirks playfully at that, not catching up to his interruption.

"I'd love to, Olivia, but I have a few errands to run before going to school. That's why I got up so early in the first place… Sorry..." Aaron explains while the girl's face slightly falls.

"Well okay then, it can't be helped I guess!" She manages a smile as she gets up.

Ahhh I'm so sorry Oliviaaaa!!!!!!!

Aaron screams internally.

"And you don't have to say sorry…" She says with the same smile. "...Because you'll make it up to me, right?" Olivia continues as her smile turns more to one of evil nature.

"Haha! Of course…" Aaron replies with a scared look on his face.

"Nice! I hope you won't go back on your word!" She states, her gaze having a murderous intent.

I told you Olivia I'm sorry!!!!

"So why are you up so early anyway?" Aaron masterfully changes the subject.

"I can never sleep peacefully before the first day of school. Or field trips or just trips in general. I don't know, the anticipation just gets to me." Olivia replies as she crosses her arms over her chest. "Anyway, didn't you have business to attend to?" She playfully hits his arm while saying.

That felt stronger than I thought it would be though…

"Yeah you're right! See you later Oli!" Aaron says with a smile.

"See ya! And don't be late for the entrance ceremony dum-dum!" Olivia replies as both of them jump inside their respective rooms.

"Of course!" Aaron replies as he shuts the window. "Wait… The what?!!!" He yells after processing what he just heard. "Holy crap I have to be there earlier than expected!!" He says while opening his wardrobe and pulling out the black steely box his gear rests in. He also picks up a black backpack in which he swiftly stuffs inside a bunch of clothes hanging from his wardrobe.

And after I went to the trouble of ironing my school uniform…

He thinks to himself as he zipps the backpack shut and wears his suit.

As soon as he's all geared up, he jumps out the window, as the first day at his new school is about to begin.

"Thank God that shop was open!" Aaron voices before taking a bite out of his donut, while he sits on the edge of a 20-story building. "With all that hurry I didn't even have the time for breakfast." He continues while taking a sip of his coffee. "...Nothing's happening though… Maybe it's too early for criminals." His monologue seems never ending, but before he can take his eyes away from the street he notices a man dressed in black, wearing a beanie and sunglasses, make a turn on an alley while dragging a bicycle alongside him. "He looks suspicious…" Aaron voices as he stuffs the remainder of his donut in his mouth and gulps down the rest of the coffee in one go. "Time to get to work…!" The teenage hero announces while jumping down the building and with the help of his teleportation and his hooks he finds himself landing right in front of the suspicious individual.

"Good morning sir…" Aaron speaks up as the man jumps in surprise. "...Or should I say… Thief!!!" He continues as he points his finger at the man.

"What?? How did you-" He exclaims, startled.

"Ahaha I was just joking! Can you please hold this for me?" He says while offering him a small pin.

"What is this?" The man in black inquires while taking hold of the object.

"Thanks!" Aaron replies cheerfully while tapping his bracelet. Immediately after, a small electric current rushes through the man in question, whose body convulses lightly as he falls to the ground.

"Mission accomplished!" Aaron goes on with his cheerful tone as he gets a hold of the bike. "Now, what shall I do with you?" He says while walking back to the main street.

*Some time later*

"Hey! Is this your bike?" Aaron asks a man who happens to be passing by.

"What…? No man." He replies somewhat taken aback as he walks away.

"Hey you! Do you know whose bike this is?"

"Uhm no…" Another passerby replies for what feels like the 100th time already.

"Darn it!! Hey, hey is this your bike?"

"What? Hey, are you the guy on the news?!" A young woman asks as she does a double take while looking at Aaron, or more precisely Wraith.

"Yeah, I think so. So do you know anything about this bike?" He replies while pointing at the bicycle he's holding.

"No, but we can take a selfie?" She asks and Aaron nods.

"Sure." He says while posing as the woman snaps the picture.

"Thank you so much, my Instagram is gonna blow up!" She says happily as she leaves and Aaron looks at her with a sense of accomplishment.

This is the first time someone has asked me for a picture… Ah I think fame might get to my head at this point…

Aaron thinks to himself while daydreaming. "Wait, I still haven't found out what I'm supposed to do with this!" He says while looking back at the bike. "I can't just leave it as is… someone might steal it again! Not to mention I have to attend the opening ceremony…" Aaron reminds himself as he hangs his head in frustration. "Lemme text Olivia real quick…" He mumbles as he pulls out his phone and types away.

A: Hey, when's the opening ceremony?

 Sent

O: It starts in 10

O: Where are you?

WHAAAAAAAAT??!!

Aaron internally screams for the second time today. "What am I supposed to do with you?!!!" He yells at the bicycle like it is its own fault while trying to think of a way out of the situation. "Oh I know!" He brainstorms an idea and quickly pulls out a piece of paper and a pen from his backpack. The teenager quickly scribbles something on the paper as he lays the bike down by a shop and sticks it over with tape.

The paper reads: "If you find this bicycle, please return it to its rightful owner. Thanks in advance, Wraith!"

As soon as he has "resolved" the situation Aaron wastes no time as he flees the scene and makes for his new school.

"Fuck! Come on!" Aaron exclaims as he struggles to fit his leg through his pants. At first glance, the teenager seems to be struggling to wear his new uniform provided by the school. "That's what I'm talking about!" He happily voices as he manages to slip into the pair of trousers. With almost the same amount of struggle, he successfully dresses himself in all the needed garments and masterfully slips his bag to his back. "Phew… Still though… this must be the first public high school to force the students to wear uniforms…" Aaron comments as he looks himself up and down. The uniform he is wearing consists of a black pair of chino-like trousers, a burgundy wool sweater with a V-Neck rocking the school crest on its left chest side and a white button-down shirt. The teenager, though, decided to sport a pair of all-white leather sneakers and roll up his sleeves up to his forearm in an attempt to make the outfit appeal more to his sense of style.

As Aaron walks towards the school campus he can't help but wonder, so he takes a quick glance at his black watch, the same watch that he shouldn't take off at any time. "Oh no…" He quickly voices as he realizes he might be more than a little late and takes off running towards the school.

What's taking him so long?

Olivia thinks to herself as she looks back at the door of the big amphitheater. "Something the matter Oli?" A girl sitting beside her asks, presumably a friend of hers. She's got short neck-length black hair and a pair of big circular glasses. "Oh yeah… everything's fine." Olivia replies with a smile as she clutches her skirt, irritated. Just then, the sound of the double doors opening is distinctly heard throughout the spacious room as a heavy-breathing young man stands at the doorway. "Aaron!" She says out loud without thinking as she notices just who that young man is. The ceremony on the other hand though, has been interrupted, as the principal of the school, who is on the podium, has stopped his speech halfway, and is looking at the belated student. The rest of the school isn't any different, as the majority of students have turned around from their seats and are looking directly at Aaron, who has completely frozen up with an awkward smile plastered on his face.

I'm extremely late, ain't I?
