The Girl Downstairs
Hey, it's me. And by me I mean none other than the not-so famous Aaron Becket. After finishing my hardcore training from hell, that took almost 2 months out of my life, and with the quarantine being issued as officially over from the government, I'm ready to go back to normal life. Or so I think… according to Dr. Steinn AKA the devil himself, the real fun will be starting now. Something's telling me I won't be enjoying it, and by something I mean his expression, but I wanted you to tag along and see for yourselves. The good things that came out of training were that I now know how to bust some heads, how to protect myself and how to do a backflip, or maybe 2? Anyway, that's the cool stuff. The boring stuff is that I actually studied science, chemistry and math… no he wasn't joking when he said that. He also said that those 3 subjects will give me the basic knowledge I'll need while "out on the field".... Not really sure how that helps though. Fortunately though, I pulled through. And the best part? I actually got my suit! Like in a superhero suit! And not only did I get a suit, but I also got a ton of gadgets! I swear Dr. Steinn does some good stuff from time to time… Anyway, the suit is an all black, skin-tight leather piece with semi metallic parts around the abdomen and chest areas, and to top it off a black half face mask that reaches up to the nose area and covers half my ears. Around the wrists it contains metallic bracelets where a couple of grappling retractable hooks are placed, as well as some throwable electrified pins with a simple flip of an internal switch. Of course the hooks are used for moving around the city, since of course I can't just take a taxi if I have to be somewhere. And to top it off, the ultimate gadget that makes this suit and the superhero that is me, unique is none other than the: ✨ Teleportation Watch✨ The way that this gadget works is simple. Well it's only simple because I'm not giving you the details. The only person who can talk details is none other than the creator, the mad scientist you've already met. Well to cut a long story short, via a neurological connection through my brain, the watch identifies the place I want to move to, and through a certain movement of my wrist my "mass" is moved there instantly. The reason this gadget only works with me is because, during the use of my powers, I'm clinically dead. And while I'm clinically dead, my teleportation from one place to another is entirely possible. But how does my teleportation work? Bear in mind that it does not disassemble my body and reassembles it again, it simply moves it at a speed similar to that of the speed of light. Any normal body wouldn't be able to handle that speed, but mine can, since it's already in cardiac arrest mode. Well of course there are limitations to how many times and how frequently I can use it, but as the one who invented it said, it's just a matter of trial and error. Hope I didn't bore you with all the sciency stuff. Even if I did bore you, fret not, I just got back to my lonesome apartment after exactly 48 days, so let's catch up from there shall we?

New York, Queens
October 5th 20:02

"Home, sweet home!" Aaron lets out a cry of joy as soon as his back hits the mattress of his very own bed. "Oh how I missed you…" He continues to swirl around in his bed, without a care in the world. "Phewwww…" Soon, he lets out a long breath as he stares at the ceiling of his room, clearly thinking back to what had happened. "During those 48 days, it certainly hit home how much of a change my life has undergone…" The teenager voices as he sits up and loses himself in his thoughts for a few seconds. "Well whatever! In less than a week my new high school life's starting and I'm all for it! Now let's take a shower shall we!?" After shrugging off the importance of his duties he swiftly jumps up and out of bed while removing his clothes, with only his boxers intact. "Better air this room out though…" He says before he makes for the door and slides the window open. "That'll do it- No way!" The young man instinctively shouts when he realizes what's lying on the top of his desk. "Older Scrolls 6?! Did they seriously get that for me!? No, I must be dreaming, right? There's no way that madman of a scientist got me the game I lost that day as a present… I think I might cry…" He exclaims dramatically while sniffling over the shiny cover of the game he had already bought once. Reluctantly he lets it back down at his desk, and nods to himself before going to the bathroom. As soon as he does, the wind from outside comes sweeping inside, blowing some papers from his desk and swaying them smoothly out the window. "Oh shit, my new High School transfer letter!!" Aaron shouts as he quickly catches wind of what's happening and comes running back. Unfortunately though, he's not fast enough to prevent them from falling down to the fire escape, exactly beneath him. "Aw come on now…" He says hanging his head in disappointment before jumping down from his own fire escape to the one below him. "There you are!" He says with a cocky smile, with his precious piece of paper in hand. But something feels off. What's that weird feeling? It's like I'm being watched... Aaron instinctively turns to look to the side, more precisely, through the window that's been wide open the whole time. Inside is a teenage girl, approximately his age. Blonde hair in a ponytail, blue eyes and thin circular glasses. She looks… beautiful. "Uhm, Hey." Aaron voices with a grin, trying to look as cool as possible. "Uuuuuuuhm…" She lets out a long almost awkward sound, but her voice is clear, and according to what Aaron's thinking, super cute. "Hey. Do you normally hang around fire escapes wearing only your boxers?" She gives a half smile with narrowed eyes and answers casually. HOLY SHIT I COMPLETELY FORGOT THAT I'M ALMOST NAKED!
It was at this moment that he knew… his mind went completely blank. "Look I swear it's not what you think! I was on my way to the shower when this paper flew out my window and I just had to come find it y'know! But then I saw you and I instinctively said Hi because I thought no one lived in this apartment and I was completely surprised!" Aaron explains in lightning speed while the girl in front of him continues to give him the weirded-out glare. But to Aaron's favor, that mask breaks and she soon bursts out laughing, holding her chest. Man even her laugh is cute… "Aaaaaah… Okay cowboy you got me. I'll let this one slide. The name's Olivia by the way." She grins and Aaron feels completely starstruck. "Nice to meet you, my name is- WAIT IS THAT BLACK SOULS?!" Aaron inadvertently changes the subject while stealing a glance from her computer screen. As soon as she hears those words though, her face lights up. "YES! You've played it too?! Man I'm stuck in that double boss battle but the lore's so intriguing I can't stop playing!" She goes off about the game at lightning speed while the young man before her nods in excitement. "I know! That boss battle was hella difficult but the trick is to fight only one boss at a time, you just need to ignore the other one completely! It took me months to figure out though!" Aaron replies with the same level of excitement as her and she quickly beams even brighter. "So you've played it! That's awesome. I'm going to try it out! Want to help me beat it?" Olivia asks with a smile as she waves the controller around. "For real? I mean I could-" Before Aaron can answer though, a voice heard from Olivia's house interrupts him. "Olivia! You talking to somebody in there?" A voice that most likely belongs to her mom. Olivia on the other hand widens her eyes, and motions for him to be quite. "No mum, I'm just talking to myself haha!" She says loudly and nervously. "Listen you need to put some clothes on 'cause if my mom sees us like this she's seriously gonna sue you!" The young girl explains with a slight red tint to her cheeks, in the loudest whisper possible. "Right! See you later then… Olivia!" Aaron says as he swiftly climbs the ladder up to his room. "Phewwww… saved…" Olivia exclaims as she throws herself on her bed. "Wait…" She voices almost immediately. "Oh maaaaaan, I didn't even get his name!!!" The young girl finally realizes as she spins around her bed, with an intense blush covering her face. "Everything okay sweetie?" A blonde woman with honey colored eyes asks as she opens the door to her room. "WHAT?! Oh yeah… I mean everything's okay mum… Also didn't I tell you to knock?" Olivia efficiently turns the tables to her favor and her mom smiles apologetically. "You're right… sorry!"

Meanwhile On the other side, AKA the upper floor:
"What was that?! Seriously what was that?! I was sure I had no neighbors in this flat when I moved here 5 months ago! And to have a cutie like that only one floor below me… Man, I'm either hella lucky or HELLA LUCKY!" Aaron says as he paces about his room. "Calm down Aaron, calm down! Breath in, breath out! First… shower." He says and takes off for the bathroom once again. (With the window closed this time around though)

Approximately 15 minutes later, Aaron is drying his hair on his office chair while getting ready to turn on his PS console. "...psst…"
"Huh? Did I hear something?"
"Psst… You…!"
"Am I imagining things?"
"PSSSSSST YOU IDIOT!"
"Olivia!?" Aaron instantly jumps out of his seat as soon as he realizes that the noises he's been hearing are coming from below. He swiftly sticks his head out his window to see Olivia staring at him from outside her own window. "Finally! You got a hearing problem?" She asks with a pout. "Well you weren't all that loud if I'm being honest…" Aaron comments with a smirk. "Anyway… that invitation is still on if you're up for it. But we can't be too loud, okay?" What does this sound so inappropriate…? "Get your head out of the gutter!" She saw through me, didn't she? "Sorry and yeah I'll be there in a second!" Aaron replies and begins to descend the ladder right away. Olivia motions for him to step inside through the window and soon, he's inside her room. It's filled with mostly girly stuff, pink walls but a few manga books and fantasy figurines are what catch Aaron's eye. So she's a nerd for games too huh? "I'd appreciate it if you stopped goggling my room, mister!" Olivia comments while he immediately straightens up and clears his throat. "Yeah I got a little carried away there…" Aaron admits while looking at her. "You know uhm… I never got your name…" She asks in a low voice while fidgeting with a controller. "What was that?" He asks back, not able to hear her question. "I said your name! What's your name?!" She finally asks with a blush and he chuckles. "Sorry I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Aaron, Aaron Becket." Aaron replies with a smirk. "Aaron then… I'm Olivia Marshall." She gives her full name as well and they exchange a handshake. "Now… let's do this!" Olivia exclaims while handing him a controller. "I'm playing? You sure?" Aaron asks quite perplexed. "Yeah, you sounded like you knew your stuff so I wanted to put your skills to the test." She cutely winks while Aaron straightens his back and gets into try-hard mode. "Okay, now let's smash that boss shall we?"
