Liberty Street, 123

 22:41

"Well I'm here… now what?" Aaron asks completely rhetorically, as he crouches on a rooftop exactly across from the scene, entirely suited-up. "I'm seriously getting called up for a jewelry store heist... And who the hell thought a 24-hour jewelry store would be a good idea!?" The masked teenager goes on with his rant.

*Bzzzt*

"Oops my phone… forgot to turn it off." He casually comments as he unlocks the screen and notices a not-so familiar name on the notification bar. "OLIVIA!?" The young man practically yells. "She texted me on WhatsApp? What's she saying?"

Olivia: Hey, we never did finish that game you know.

Sent

Yes she actually texted me a conversation starter!!! Hmm… but what should I reply?

"Do you take us for fools?! Load the damn bag!" An angry voice can be heard from the jewelry store in the distance. "Oh crap I don't have the time for this!!!" Aaron fidgets with his phone but ultimately puts it back in his pocket.

"Time to get to work, then." He announces fixing his mask, after a long sigh. "How should I approach this?? There are 8 masked men and I see civilians inside. The best course of action would be to barge right in and kick their ass. The element of surprise would be on my side bu-WAIT!" Aaron notices one of the masked men who is pointing a gun at what is presumed to be a hostage. Without devising a plan, he throws his hooks to the edges of the small store and swipes himself off the rooftop. In a matter of seconds he swings right into the store and through the front glass panel.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" A criminal shouts, completely flabbergasted. "Hey boys, mind if I join in?" Aaron sarcastically states as the criminals immediately point their guns at him. "Who the fuck are you, you skin-tight-leather-wearing piece of shit?" One of the masked men asks and Aaron's brow is visibly twitching in anger. "You didn't have to do me like that… YOU KNOW!" The masked teenager voices as he flicks his wrist and teleports right behind him. With a swift kick to the back of his knee, and a karate chop to the side of the neck, the criminal is left kissing the ground.

"Anthony!"

"Shut up you idiot, don't use our real names!"

Two other criminals who witnessed what just happened started bickering amongst themselves. "Hey I love guys who keep themselves distracted…" Aaron cockily comments as he teleports between the two and smacks his elbow in the first one's face while grabbing hold of the other guy's rifle. "...because then there's less work for me!" He finally finishes his sentence as he slams the gun on the criminal's stomach and with a quick movement punches the lights out of him. "GET THAT TELEPORTING BASTARD RIGHT NOW!" Another one of the masked-men crew cries out as he fires his rifle. "Took you long enough to realize!" Aaron spits back as he throws an electrified pin his way through his bracelet. The man's body starts moving uncontrollably for a moment in response to the electricity, but soon falls flat right after. "Shoot him already!" The other criminals quickly catch up to what they should do and start firing all at once. "Everybody get down!" Aaron shouts as he swiftly jumps up and out of reach from their fire. Without wasting a moment the teenager uses his hook to get back to the ground, slamming his foot onto a criminal's face in the process. "3 to go." He swiftly says a monotone way, almost like an android who has acquired his target. In a matter of seconds he teleports yet again, this time between the other two criminals huddled close to each other and with brute force slams their heads against each other. As the last criminal, aims at him with a trembling finger, the teenager finds himself behind the enemy yet again, sweeping the rifle from his arms. The nervous wreck of a man, quickly tries to pull out a handgun but Aaron has already gotten a hold of his hands and has him disabled on the floor. "W-Who the heck are you...?!" He asks, in a defeated kind of way as he stares at the pair of transparent white eyes staring back at him. His abnormally white hair slightly swaying to the side, his jet black suit and his ability to teleport at will…

Really who is this guy? The man thought. "That's a good question. Haven't really thought of a name yet. Any suggestions?" Aaron asks, his personality shifting back to that of a teenager.

YOU HAVE TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME! The masked man lying on the floor thought to himself yet again. Is he toying with him or is he perhaps so aloof that he's actually enjoying the situation? The man before him surely is full of mysteries. These were his last thoughts before he lost consciousness.

"No suggestions, huh? I really should have thought of a name already!" The young man rants to himself as the civilians that are no longer held captive, look at him completely dumbfounded. They only amount to 3, and consist of a grown man in a suit, a young woman in a dress and an old lady. "You saved us! I cannot thank you enough!" The man wearing a suit, who was the one that the gun was pointed at during the heist, says as he approaches the masked teenager. "Uhmm…" Aaron stutters before clearing his throat and making his voice sound more mature. "Fret not civilian, for I am here to protect you all!"

That sounded so lame I don't know why I said that!!

"Haha how noble! Without you I might have not made it up back home to my daughter and son tonight..." The man replies cheerfully.

He has a family, huh? If I weren't here, he might not have made it…

"It's a good thing that you can get back to your family. I'm sure they'll be delighted to see you're safe." Aaron sincerely replies and the man nods with a smile. "You see, actually I stopped by to buy a gift for my daughter." He says as he shows off a golden heart shape pendant. "That's amazing, but I think that your daughter would prefer her dad over a necklace. So don't go being reckless again uhmm… mister!" Aaron says as he tries to sound older with that last part. "You.. You're right! Thank you again, you're a hero!" The man enthusiastically applauds as Aaron can feel himself blushing under his mask.

HE CALLED ME A FREAKING HERO!!!

As the rest of the civilians, as well as the people working on the store started applauding and before Aaron can short-circuit right then and there the sirens of police cars can be heard. "Oops, time to bail!" The young man announces as he makes for the door. "Stop right there!" A police officer orders as he points his gun at him. "Woah there mister cop!" The masked teenager says as he instinctively teleports out of the way and through to the open. "Did you just see that? He moved like a ghost!" The other policeman comments as Aaron hides successfully in the back alley. "Yeah he was like a wraith…" The other police officer agrees.

"Wraith... huh?" Aaron repeats as he finds himself on the rooftop once again. "It has a nice ring to it actually!" He continues enthusiastically. "Yep! I've decided! From here on out, the mysterious masked vigilante who saves the civilians of Queens will be named Wraith!" The young man announces as he pumps his fist in the air.

"Now let's go celebrate my first mission ever!!!"

"If I wrote a book about me, I'd call that chapter Wraith Begins, or something like that…"

"Oh crap I left Olivia on read!!!"
