Chapter 45 - Class is in Session
Before them stood a gigantic building. It was exquisitely made and it resembled the architecture in Heethfield. The building was made from a mix of clay bricks and cobblestone, all painted in a gold and black colour scheme. There were coloured window panes spanning from the first floor all the way to the fourth. Outside surrounding the building was a grass yard. There were trees growing all different kinds of fruit, and along with the trees, students were sat around, talking, laughing and generally having a good time. The two main doors were made from mahogany and they were wide open outwards, students entering and leaving through them. As Red, Trivia and Hyuga approached the entrance, the students suddenly stared at them before quickly bowing. They casually walked in with smiles on their faces but before entering completely, Red stopped. He turned to a young boy and asked,

"I'm sorry, but may you point us to Fiande's class",

"O-of course Your Highness, he's currently teaching an Exile class on the 4th floor, classroom 2" the kid stuttered,

"No need to be so nervous" Red said placing his hand on his shoulder "Thank you young man",

They started heading to a stairway on the left, students from all ages, sexes and races bowed as they did. Walking up the stairs slowly Trivia asked Red,

"So... Why did you enlist Mialta into the academy? Actually I'm surprised she accepted at all!",

"Well I didn't give her a choice. It was more like she enlisted or I would tell Krul about Marianna",

Suddenly Trivia burst laughing "You're cruel",

"Not as cruel as you on a bad day" Red replied looking back at her,

As they reached the forth floor, Red turned left and saw a door with a small window and a number 2 above it. He casually knocked before entering, swinging the door wide open,

"So today class we-" Fiande was about to talk before Red interrupted,

"Sorry to interrupt Fiande, I merely wished to see how our new student was doing" Red said as he stepped in,

The classroom was medium sized. Wooden walls were covered with magic runes and symbols. Tables and chairs were spread out in a huge circle with students housing all of them. They appeared to be mostly young adults around the ages of 20 to 25. At the front was Fiande who was introducing Mialta. Mialta however was looking at Red with a surprised look. Suddenly after the class realized who came in, hastily they stood up and bowed their heads,

"Oh please, don't let me bother your studies. Please sit" he told them,

The students once again sat down and a look of shock and surprise overcame them,

"Fiande, please carry on",

"Yes, Your Highness. As I was saying, today we have a new student. Her name is Mialta Élead. She's an Exiled much like all of you" Fiande stated pointing to Mialta,

Suddenly the students started bickering "Élead? As in the Élead Family? What's she doing here? A vampire can be an Exiled? She doesn't look like a vampire to me" these questions and comments ran across the room,

"If I mind Fiande, what is the class for today?" Trivia asked,

"Battle Testing, My Lady" he replied,

"Well then, should we have these students learn what true battle means?" Trivia said with a grin,

"My Lady?" Fiande asked confused,

"How many of you have been in battle?" Trivia asked the classroom,

The students looked around but none of them answered. Not even a single hand was put up,

"Okay, how many of you are confident you could beat Mialta?" she asked,

Suddenly most people in the class rose their hands with confidence. Smiles of pride wore on their faces, but Trivia simply shook her head in disappointment,

"Fiande, if its at all possible may I and Red be the ones to teach them for today?" Trivia asked with cincerity,

"Of course Your Highness, it would be an honour, not only to me but I'm sure to all of them. To be taught by The War Harbinger herself" Fiande said as he bowed,

"Thank you, well then class..." suddenly Trivia aid as she had a giant grin and eyes of a predator "... Class is in session",

The students became self conscious and afraid as terror came crawling up their spines. Mialta even had a scared look on her face.

Outside the sun shined brighter than ever. It was a hot day but a slight cool breeze ran through the air. Behind the building there was a courtyard, much like the one at the castle. It span quite wide and by the burn marks and crustal residue left around, it seemed to be a battle ground for students to practice their magic. On the ground there were box markings on the left and right about 20 metres apart, to indicate where students would stand to begin a match. Everyone was outside standing by the arena, the entire class stood with some fearing what would happen, while some had smiles on their faces full of confidence. Red was sat down playing with Hyuga in the shade of a nearby tree, while Trivia and Fiande was conversing with each other away from the the students. Suddenly Trivia stepped forward,

"Alright class. Here's the deal, you will all have a turn to fight me, if you lose you're out but if we draw or you happen to win, you may challenge Your King" Trivia said with a firm voice,

Suddenly everyone panicked, including Red,

"Wait! What do you mean challange me?" Red said with shock,

"Well, today we're gonna teach them the meaning of power and loss. You've already taught Mialta, so why not the rest of the best Exiles in the kingdom" she replied,

Red simply shrugged and smiled to agree to her request,

"Just so you know kids, out of all of you, I believe only 2 will have the chance to face me" Red said with certanty "Fiande, why don't you show them what I mean",

"Your Highness, do you mean-",

"Just a little bout, with Trivia",

"Of course Sire, it would be my honour" Fiande replied as he bowed to Trivia,

As Trivia walked over to the left indicates box and Fiande to the right one, Red with a grin asked the students,

"Anyone want to bet on who loses",

The students looked around and talked to each other before replying,

"Fiande, My Lord",

"Her Highness" Mialta quietly said,

Suddenly Red look at her, intrigued as to why she said that,

"ARE YOU READY?" Red shouted from the tree to Trivia and Fiande,

They both just simply nodded after bowing to each other,

"Well good. BEGIN!",

Suddenly Trivia widened her arms, stretching them out as far to the left and right as she could. Suddenly light blue crystal spears started appearing from the ground and went flying up, all in a split second. Fiande however, quickly reached and placed his arm up like he was holding a shield,

"Aincrad!" he shouted,

Suddenly a huge pure golden coloured shield appeared on his arm, right on time, as the spears came flying down and hitting the shield, breaking or ricocheting off it. Fiande didn't waste a single second. He immediately counter attacked,

"Hail of Our Mother!" he shouted as he took a knee,

Suddenly the sun was blocked out with a barrage of fire arrows, all flying, all pointing to Trivia. Trivia however smiled. She opened her palm and shouted,

"Trinity!",

Suddenly a spear came flying through the air and landed on her palm. She quickly took grasp of it and with incredible precision and speed, blocked all the arrows. Using the point of the spear to cut away the fire arrows before they even touched the ground. After the flame residue and cinders disappeared from Fiande's attack Trivia took a stance. Her spear was unlike anything ever seen before. The shaft was about 2 and a half metres long, made from a divine metal that slightly glowed gold but it was made entirely white in colour. At one end stood a master crafted blade. One blade fuzed with the shaft, with an arrow look of sorts, made in black with Firluage writing on it. On the other end however was a green ribbon attached to the end of the shaft, green coloured and it seemed to be just a normal ribbon one would use for tying up hair,

"Your Highness, I am deeply humbled that you have not only shown me, but also used the second most powerful weapon in the kingdom. Trinity, The Hailmary Spear" Fiande said in amazement,

"It's nothing to be humble about Fiande, in fact, I am surprised and in awe that you've made me use it" Trivia said smiling at him,

Red suddenly stood up and started slowly clapping,

"Well done. Brilliant match but I think we'll call that a draw",

"Your Highness?" Fiande said confused,

"Trust me Fiande, accept the draw",

Fiande thought for a moment before realising. He simply took a bowe to Trivia and shook hands with her. The students however were in shock. While they may not have truly understood what was happening in the match, the mere specatle sparked something in them. Mialta however was still standing, this time though she had a smile,

"So can anyone tell me who would have won if I didn't stop the duel?" Red asked to the students,

"Her Highness of course!" one of the students shouted,

"Wrong" Mialta cut in,

Suddenly everyone turned to her with eyes of confusion and shock,

"Explain" Red said with a grin,

"Yes Your Highness. While it may be true that Her Highness is a master of combat and war, she is inheritly weak to something. Fire. As an Exiled, I have the ability to find one of my own. I felt it as soon as I reached this academy. However, Her Highness never gave off that feeling. Seeing her in combat now also confirmed to me what Element she was. All that was needed after that was to use the right Element against her. At the end of the day, while one may be the strongest fighter, strongest magician or even a God, we cannot defend our born with weakness. Just like most our powers are a Birthright, so are our weaknesses. Yes, Her Majesty may have beaten Professor Fiande if it was a battle of all out power against multiple foes, but, as a one one duel, she's the weaker fighter. No disrespect of course My Lady" Mialta explained,

While Trivia had a face of shock from all the information Mialta was able to gather just from a single duel, Red simply smiled. Suddenly however there were a group of boys who were making fun of Mialta. Red took instant notice and addressed,

"You think it's a bad state being smart or understanding your foe" he said with anger,

"N-no Your Highness" one of the boys stuttered as fear began to creep up their spines,

"Well then, let's see who's smarter. A Duel between you and Mialta",

Sudden shock ran across the group and the boy was clearly flustered. He had a face that he didn't want to fight but before he could say anything, another student stepped in. He was well built, slick hair and great features on his face. He was about the same height as Mialta and had the atmosphere of something powerful,

"I'll duel her" the student said with a heavy voice,

Red looked up and down at the man and he was quite impressed,

"Fiande, who's this?" Red asked interested in the man,

"His name is Ulric Easton, from the Easton family. He's quite the student, I fact, I'd say he's the second best one I've ever had. Not only is he powerfull but intelligent, and being from the Easton family makes him quite high in status in your kingdom, Your Highness" Fiande explains,

"Hhmm, yes. I've heard of that family name. They are a great family of Exiles that have proven themselves over many years. Ulric, may I refer to you as Ulric?" Red asked him,

"Of course My Lord. I am at your humble service. The simple matter that you recognise my family name, is not only a proud fact to me, but it'll also bring great joy to my family" he said taking a bow,

"Well then Ulric, do you think you can beat Mialta?",

Ulric pondered for a bit, looking at Mailta with a certain look before looking at Red and replying,

"I don't know about winning, My Lord. I can tell she's powerfull. Not only by the fact that she is quite intelligent and confident in her powers but by also the fact that you clearly have an interest in her. But one thing I can say for certain. On my family name, I will not lose",

Red smiled,

"Good. Then let's have you fight instead. But prepare yourselves, for your opponent is not each other... But me" Red said with a proud and confident voice,

Ulric and Mialta surprised, looked at each other before looking at Red.

After everyone was in place, Red was to one side while Mialta and Ulric were on the other. Fiande and Trivia acted as referees while the class watched. Suddenly however they noticed out of the windows of the other classes that all other students were watching from up high. Red simply looked up, smiled and waved at them before turning back to the openonets fore him,

"Lets have a destructive match. Both your names, honour, power and respect are on the line" Red said to them, with the eyes of a proud predator,

Ulric and Mialta said nothing and merely waited for the go ahead. Trivia looked at Red, then at Ulric and Mialta. She took a deep breath and then shouted,

"BEGIN!",

Ulric suddenly charged in, a fire magic crest suddenly appeared around his hands. He stopped about halfway to Red and unbleached his power,

"Burning Glory!" he shouted,

He aimed both his hands at Red and giant flaming spirals emerged from his plams. As they got closer to Red, he could feel the burning passion in Ulric's attack. Red raised his hand and pointed down. Suddenly the spirals changed course and hit the floor in front of him. Ulric sneered and back up. Mialta suddenly transformed into her true self and disappeared, much like she did with her battle with Red,

"Really? Are we gonna use the same tricks?" Red laughed as he said it "Alma!",

Suddenly his sword came flying from the sky and impacted the ground where Mialta was. She panicked and appeared once again,

"He knew where I was?" she said to herself,

Ulric took this opportunity, when Red was focused on Mialta, to attack. Crystal crests appeared in his hands once more and he aimed them at the ground,

"Frojentyr!" Ulric shouted,

Suddenly Red got serious, his face changed from confident to aware. The ground shook and two giant crystal snakes appeared, emerging from said ground. They were huge, as tall as the building itself and their gaze shined upon Red. Red squinted before returning Alma to his hand,

"Ulric, I'm extremely impressed. You're able to call upon The Queen's Snakes?" Red said quite proudly,

"Indeed Sire, it was a spell passed down by my father" Ulric replied "Mialta! Come over here!"

Suddenly she rushed over to Ulric, who whispered something in her ear. She had a face of shock but then a smile appeared. She backed off and disappeared once again. Red was about to use Alma but the snakes attacked him. One snake after the other, kept attacking him with their fangs and Red was occupied trying to dodge and block their attacks. Suddenly Mialta appeared behind him and summed her spear. And in a flash she attacked. Red looked back with a face of panic but suddenly grinned,

"I win!" he shouted,

He dropped Alma to the ground and clapped his hands into a praying position. Everything came to a halt. Time itself stopped. Out of nowhere, a young girl appeared. She had pure black hair with raveging red eyes much like Red. She was beautiful but wore a witch's overcoat to cover herself up. She was floating around in the air but no wings sprouted from her back,

"My, my, if it isn't The Fool" she said,

Her voice was sweet but somehow demonic all the same,

"I've asked you to stop calling me that..." Red sighed as he talked "... Haven't I, Área?",

Suddenly her gaze focused on Red. Out of nowhere, she teleported to his side. She started running her fingers up Red's body, ever so gently,

"Indeed you have, Fake King",

Red simply stared at her with eyes of anger,

"Oh come on, don't look so down. It has been a while since you've summoned me",

"Yeah, I guess that's true" Red grunted,

"So? What do you want this time?" she asked as she backed away from him,

"Where are my snakes?",

"So you finally found out huh?" Área said with a grin,

"You gave them to that boy?",

Suddenly she started laughing "Gave them? Please Red, you know me better than that. I don't give anything away",

"Okay, so how did he get them?" Red asked intrigued,

"He wished for them. Well... Not them specifically but they were the closest things I could think off at the time",

"What did he wish?",

Área then stared at him with a weird look "He wished for friends to fight with",

"What? That's it? Couldn't you give him immortal soldiers, or even mannequins? Why give him one of the most powerfull Spells not to mention beings of all the world?",

"Huuuuuh, you ask to many questions" Área moaned,

Red stayed quiet and thought about something. He stuttered a bit but then asked another question,

"What of the other 3?",

"You mean Agafomrn and the Ularacts? Their still locked away",

Red sighed in relief "How did he even come to you?",

Suddenly Área got close to him,

"There are things even I won't say, Red" she said with a serious tone "But enough about that boy, what did you want? Or was it to simply ask me about him?",

"No, I just wanted to confirm first. I'm actually here for the Third Grimoire",

"The Amarra Grimoire? Why?",

Red then pointed around him,

"Have you not noticed where we are yet?",

Área looked around for a bit before coming to realization. Her eyes suddenly gleemed with joy and nostalgia. He floated around looking all around her taking everything in,

"I know this place, This is The Exiled Academy's Courtyard. My, doesn't this bring back memories. I remember slaying all those little mortal creatures thinking they were the top of the top",

"Yeah, hasn't changed much huh?" Red asked rhetorically,

"Where's Fiande? Is he still that handsome piece of meat I remember him being?",

Red then chuckled and pointed to him standing next to Trivia. Área approached Fiande and with a disgusted look said,

"Man, he really has aged quite horribly",

Red burst out laughing before getting back to the topic,

"So, can you unlock the Grimoire for me?",

"You still haven't answered why" Área told him still inspecting Fiande,

"To teach these so called little mortal creatures" Red said with a smile,

Suddenly Área turned back to him with a face of shock, but realizing what he meant, she then smiled and agreed,

"Once I do, I know you'll disappear like you always do... But... Please do come visit" she said with a sad tone,

"Of course, I still remember our promise" Red said with a loving voice,

Área's eyes once again lit up and she clapped her hands. Suddenly everything turned white and everything turned back to normal. Mialta was about to attack just like the snakes were, but out of nowhere, Red shouted,

"GRAND ACLIMATION!",

Suddenly golden chains appeared out of thin air and pinned Mialta and the snakes to the the ground, not letting them have any room to move. Ulric took notice and tried to attack once again, but he too was then pinned down. Mialta and him both tried to struggle but they simply couldn't move at all. Red then picked up Alma and raised it in the air,

"VERMELHA!" he shouted,

A giant fireball the size of his castle appeared above them. Red simply grinned and stabbed the sword into the ground. As he did, the fireball started to fall, directly above them. Ulric and Mialta struggled even harder trying to escape. Fiande stood in awe while the rest of the entire student body feared for their lives. Suddenly however, Trivia stepped in,

"STOP!",

Red took notice and sighed. The fireball then shrank down to nothing, leaving only cinders and sparks flowing through the air. He grabbed Alma once more and threw it in direction of the castle. It flew through the air disappearing from sight. Trivia then got close to Red,

"Can you free them now?" she asked chuckling,

Red simply smiled and the chains disappeared, freeing Mialta and Ulric, but the snakes were crushed under the force of the chains getting tighter around them. They both then stood up, relaxing their muscles and cleaning dirt of their clothes. Before they could say anything Red turned to the class, who was still shaking from terror,

"So let me ask you... You think you can easily beat Mialta, but how many of you think could survive my attack",

The class said nothing,

"Let me tell you, this woman has battled me once before and this isn't even a fraction of her power. So next time you judge someone's power without feeling it for yourselves, you are giving them the advantage, the advantage to surprise, beat and even possibly kill you" Red taught them "Mialta, you may go with Fiande, I'm sure hell have somethings hell want to discuss",

"Y-yes Your Highness" she replied in pain,

"Ulric, I have something I wish to discuss with you",

Fiande took the class and Mialta with him inside. Trivia headed with them, leaving Red and Ulric alone. After they were gone Red looked to Ulric and with a soulless tone asked,

"When did you meet her?",

"Sire?" Ulric asked confused,

"Área... The Maker's Librarian",
